What are the shows that everybody else seems to know (critically acclaimed or ratings success) that you've never seen. Just missed or couldn't be bothered to watch as you thought the ship had sailed.
If you did 'catch on' later how did it happen, what did you think (worth the hype) and did you start at the beginning with box sets or pick up half way through. Or did you just not get what the fuss had been about?

The title should read "Only Fools and Horses". Obviously.

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Game of Thrones, everybody seems to be raving about it but I've never fancied it and as it's into the 4th or 5th series I don't think I'll be bothering now. Never seen Breaking Bad - and I do feel bad about that one as even Emily Bishop has watched it, lol! I must borrow MrLJnr's box set. Older stuff? Buffy. I can't say I've never seen any of it as MissLJnr was mad on it so I caught scenes here and there but I have never seen a full episode. I apologise if I've shocked some with that confession Looking at Collie's list I've just realised I have no idea what The Big Bang Theory is or what it's about.

Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones are probably the two biggest ones in recent years for me, although to be honest I've never really felt compelled to go out and get any box sets for them despite all the praise they receive.

The Big Bang Theory is about a group of socially inept geeky men who befriend an attractive blonde bimbo and the effects she has on their lives.
Its ok, I rarely laugh out but I do find it entertaining.
Things like The Office and The Thick of it do not appeal to me. I am not a big fan of period dramas but did watch Downton And while I do appreciate how good Breaking Bad is, I gave up midway through series 2.

There are tonnes of shows that have passed/are passing me by.
I'm another who's not seen Game Of Thrones or Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Dexter, How I Met Your Mother, Lost, Mad Men, Sex & The City, Desperate Housewives, House...Just like Collie, I'd be here for ages reeling off the stuff I haven't seen!
I remember giving Buffy a watch when Season Five began and I immediately got hooked. The Walking Dead had got to its fourth season (I think) before I showed an interest in it; but I decided to start watching from the beginning and I'm so glad I did because it's a great show.

I watched Breaking Bad last year. I enjoyed it but it's overhyped IMO. It's being repeated on Spike TV if anyone's interested. The channel only opened last Wednesday.
I've tried to get into Game of Thrones a few times but it doesn't appeal to me. I saw some of the new episode on Gogglebox and again I don't get the fuss.
Big Bang Theory is very popular, I don't find it funny.
Modern Family/CSI/Dexter/House/24/Lost/Prison Break/Agents of Shield/Gotham/Mentalist - a lot of the American series don't do it for me.
I haven't got Netflix so I haven't seen Orange is the New Black or House of Cards.
I love Homeland/The 100/Revenge and I'm looking forward to Empire which is starting on E4 next week.

Breaking Bad really needs to be seen from the start, it's not something you could just jump into. I caught on after my brother kept talking about the tense last few episodes, then I managed to binge watch the whole thing in the space of about a month.

I was beginning to think I was the only person who didn't, so that's reassuring.

I keep meaning to watch Breaking Bad but can't be faffed. I wonder if the internet has destroyed my attention span!

Breaking Bad. I feel like a veggie in a butchers whenever I come online as everyone always seems to be raving about BB. But no, it doesn't really appeal to me. I haven't seen The Big Bang Theory either and I no longer watch a single soap opera

I haven't got Netflix either. In fact I don't have any form of catchup tv. I use the internet mostly on my phone and whilst it is okay for the odd clip the screen is too small to watch anything major. The laptop loading speed is really slow for some reason and also my husband tends to need it for work in the evening - if he stayed at the Office to do it we would never see each other. Also, frankly, there is enough stuff on actual tv as i do still watch the soaps and always the News and newsnight so that is 3 and a half hours each evening plus recorded stuff.
We picked up the first.2 seasons of Breaking Bad in the Xmas sales and a friend bought me House of Cards for my birthday a couple of weeks ago.
Another friend put the first episode of Game of Thrones on for me but I wasn't overawed. That said we were chatting too and maybe it needs full attention. However i've not been interested enough to make an effort to see it and as i don't have Sky anymore it would be an effort, borrowing or buying the boxsets. I might catch up with it some time in the future.
I never really got 24. Saw odd bits and bought the first season but have never bothered to watch it. Same with Dexter. House is another I've never seen.
All the Stargates, Battlestar Galacticas.
I've made a vow never to watch a full episode of Mrs Browns Boys. The bits i have unwillingly caught have made me want to put my head in the oven - then i remembered it is Electric.
I'm sure I'll remember others.

I haven't seen The Big Bang Theory either and I no longer watch a single soap opera I used to feel like Donald Sutherland in 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' about Babylon 5. Everywhere i went, people flinging themselves onto my windscreen or rugby tackling me shouting 'Watch Babylon 5'! I resisted for about 2 years then caught an episode by accident and was converted - just like that and started on other people.

I was beginning to think I was the only person who didn't, so that's reassuring. I haven't got Netflix, Sky, TiVo, Freeview plus, Amazon play, BT tv, or anything that lets you pause/rewind live TV. The only thing I have is the basic Freeview/freesat from when they switched over to digital, and as the only channels I watch are BBC 1/2/4, ITV 1/3, chanel 4 and Challenge, I don't see the point in getting any of it. I don't have a dvd recorder either so can't tape anything, so if you want to watch something here you'd either have to watch it as it was broadcast including all the adverts, look it up on ITV player/Iplayer afterwards or wait until some kind soul uploaded it to YouTube. Same with movies and films, either watch them when their on TV, buy the dvd or search about online to find a link to watch it for free .
