Doctors is the 4th most watched soap behind Emmerdale.
Doctors is ahead of Neighbours which is 5th and Hollyoaks which is 6th. It does rather well in the afternoons for BBC1. It will only come a cropper if the BBC has to cut funding and go back to the potters wheel and the test card and they will cut daytime before evening programmes.

I don't watch every episode, like you I am at work, but put it this way, it is the quality end of the market and is probably too good to be on in the daytime. It does put the other day time soaps to shame and imo is better than the itv soaps. Doctors is on its summer break until September.

I wish Doctors were on in a later time slot. Maybe then they would have a larger audience.

Doctors is the best soap on TV by a mile, imo. I love it.

Eastenders isn't dead, they just need to stop hiring shit producers with terrible ideas.

3 soaps I know are totally safe. Corrie, EastEnders and Home And Away. In Australia H&A is the No 1 soap so is going nowhere. In the UK CS and EE are the top 2.
Emmerdale, Neighbours and Hollyoaks are the more at risk soaps.

Corrie has been abysmal for 57 years but is still standing. Easties ain't going anywhere. So true, Coronation St appeals to the lowest common denominator, it is astounding it gets a 40% share. It's main problem is its so Northern. -hand-gesture-smiley-emoticon It's as though there proud to be Northern. m0918 Ways to improve Corrie, get rid of many Northern Characters and introduce more characters from the Midlands and the South. Get rid of that bloody dreary street and pub. Have an opening sequence like Hollyoaks and get rid of the old sods who should be in retirement homes or sheltered accomodation or is that what itv is for nowdays?

I wonder if EastEnders could do a opening sequence similar to what Emmerdale, Corrie and Brookside did. Get rid of the famous map. Keep the theme tune and music but have the opening title sequence showing shots of East London such as towerblocks, Canary Wharf, Brick Lane then show a panoramic shot of Borehamwood (parading as Walford) with the towerblock in shot, and CGI of Canary Wharf in the distance, then show a show of Albert Square then the last shot is Albert Square looking towards The Vic with the "London Borough of Walford, Albert Square" sign.

In all seriousness I would prefer EE to leave the opening map as it is so iconic, as are the CS titles if not a little blurred. Not keen on the Emmerdale titles since they got rid of the lovely countryside shots and the Emmerdale music is awful, its as though someone is playing it on their computer, turning a few knobs, nothing compared to the fully orchestrated version we once had by Tony Hatch which was so haunting.
