Well it's nearly here folks...
I know some of you are really against it... But I'm looking forward to it... I love Corrie and would watch it 7 nights a week regardless...
So how would you like to see the six episodes planned out over the week...? Me... I want an episode each night like they do with Emmerdale and then a double helping on a Friday... That would be my ideal viewing...

I suspect itv will schedule it at 8:30pm on a Thursday after the 2nd Emmerdale or at 7:30pm on a Sunday.
I suspect the BBC will hope itv will go for the Sunday option, so they can target the soap with some of their big hitters like Strictly and Country File and the BBC like the 8:30pm slot on a Thursday for EastEnders when they show extra episodes, or move an episode from Friday for sporting events. It will be interesting to see where they schedule it. At least the CS actors are going to have to earn their wages.

I think a reduction in episodes should be on the cards not an increase.

What has happened to itv, it is now a diet of soap and simon cowell talent shows. A real shame to see this once great institution tunred to this.
If they want to kill the golden goose (Corrie) then let them, go ahead.

IMO 5 episodes is often stretching it so I'm not positive about a 6th one. I was going to say that I hope the quality doesn't suffer but ... I suppose it's just harder for us who also watch EE as well as ED and Corrie, another half-hour to fit in!

I for one can hardly find the time to watch the rubbish they churn out with 5 episodes a week and really don't have the time for yet another one. If truth be told I hate ITV and the crap that they put on. My Dad when he was alive wouldn't watch the channel at all. I used to think that was a bit extreme but his words are coming back to haunt me.

It's a shame as the Wednesday single episode tends to be better than the doubles (in my opinion).
More annoying false cliffhangers.

I just think its sad to think of some of the great shows we have had from the channel over the years and a great variety of drama, comedy LE shows and soaps twice a week. Sad these days are gone. Very sad.
itv can still surprise with good drama but with their early evening schedule clogged up with soap, there is very little else on offer and at times BBC One is not much better with the One show.

Corrie should put their money into a Pat Phelan spin-off series, in which he goes on the run with Andy (who becomes his lover) to get revenge on his ex-wife in Dubai.

I'm not keen on the double bills of Coronation Street, it seems to much soap, it would be better to spread it out and have 1 episode each night, either at 7.30pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 8.00pm Tuesday and Thursday. Emmerdale could still be on 7.00pm Monday-Friday. I am surprised itv have not done this, it would lift their flagging Tuesday scehdule and at the same time dent the BBC's Holby City.
