I went with Home and Away because I wanted to be different. It started with Alf and the Fletchers with their lives entwined. Bobby hating on Roo when they were teens for instance. Then there is Morag. And now it seems with Roos Mum Martha coming back into it , more history will be revealed. And no doubt with it being their 30th year, more faces from the past will appear in the Bay this year. I would love to see Steven Matterson again. And if Norman Coburn could be persuaded to reprise his role as Donald Fisher for an episode or two - I would be so delighted.

Neighbours has featured about 6 or 7 regular houses, Lassiters and now an apartment block over the years, a gazebo etc. H&A has featured many locations but I suppose if you add it up, it levels out with Neighbours. Neighbours is older and has made 1000 more episodes. Also it has had a wider variety of characters from all ages. So I will say Neighbours has the most colourful history of any Aussie soap. H&A is second with Prisoner third.

I would say Neighbours also, it is the British equivalent of Coronation Street. Ramsey Street is the most famous street in Oz to us Brits. The Robinosns are still in the show.

I have a slight bias on this, I have seen all 692 episodes of Prisoner CBH a minimum of 4 times. I know, I know but it's my guilty pleasure

No I didn't, wasn't cheesey with shaky scenery that's what was so good about PCBH To be fair though the remake has a lot of fans and many love it.

It is hard hitting but some stand out performances from the likes of Pamela Rabe as Joan The Freak Fergusson.

I do like the remake "Wentworth" My main issue with Wentworth was that although they used the names of characters in the original they bore no resemblance to the original characters, that killed it for me only watched 3 or 4 in the first series and gave it up as modern hocus pocus trying to show the original up and failing miserably.

I agree re the characters being very different apart from the Freak. I think to enjoy the show you have to think of it as a new show and nothing to do with the old. They are nothing like each other.
The production values are a lot better and they have spent alot more money on the sets, it is less tongue in cheek and cheesey and if i am being honest the acting is better also. However i can see why many PCBH fans would never take to Wentworth. It does not have the charm of the original.

That's fair enough I was the same with the new Dallas, it didn't have that cheesey-cheeky side which made the original so fun😂

Would you say Neighbours is as iconic as Corrie in the UK? I suppose not? i would say if we were talking in terms of football leagues Corrie would be at the bottom of the premier league and Neighoburs would be at the top of the championship league hoping for promotion. In terms of quality what i have recently seen of Neighbours is above Coronation St by a huge margin.
