Despite once being a regular character, she seems to make nothing more than an occasional appearance every now and then. It wouldn't surprise me if she is on her way out which I think is a massive shame. I believe she has the potential to truly make an impact. Lola has a load of things going in her favour which is why I'm surprised why DTC doesn't at least consider giving her a storyline.
She is a Mitchell, good looking, can act and has good onscreen presence. Not bad for a Kirkwood creation, eh? I would like for her to have a storyline of her own but nothing to do with her birth mother, as I think there is far too many of those type of storylines running at present.

Not really fussed either way tbh, she's a harmless enough character but I don't think she will ever be a big player.

It's strange how she pretty much disappeared. I fear they are going to bring her further into the Dean storyline. I think there's quite an interesting story to tell between her and Ben, what with him being self-loathing and her being the mother of his child. Perhaps he wants to get involved with Lexi to try and 'straightwash' himself some more. I could also see Kathy eventually being a surrogate mother figure to Lola.

There's quite a few things they could find to do with her (likewise Whitney) and show them on screen more if it wasn't The Carter Show all the bleeding time

Her treatment under Mr. Collins has been shameful.
Jacqueline Jossa and Maddy Hill are his golden young uns. The rest don't get a look in.
Too much screentime dedicated to certain characters has lead to others like Lola being sidelined. It's a waste and a grave shame.
We've seen more of Jo the extra this year! Rumour has it that Lola is given her lines on a beermat.

At present I'm not interested in her either, TBH. I'd like her mother to make an appearance at some point, then I might start caring. Otherwise, I just don't know what else she can do. Date Jay? Argue with Abi over it? Even the thought of those storylines sound tedious. Or Maybe she and Billy could struggle financially again...I blame the writers for the rut she's stuck in.

I always liked Lola and do think she is criminally underused.
But that said, i also struggle to think what they can really do with her. I liked the relationship with Peter but obviously he has gone now. It seems likely that they will get her with Jay with Ben (and Abi) not liking it but that doesn't thrill me.
Whilst i'm pleased the age demographic has raised somewhat, it does rather leave characters like Lola out in the cold. Ben and Jay have business Mitchell double dealings to get involved with, Abi is caught up with that as well plus Branning storylines. Cindy will be part of the ongoing Beale stories plus i think DTC (rightly) sees her as a star of the future. Whitney is now an honorary Carter (though also underused) but really what does Lola have to do or interact with except Billy and the kids?

Though understandable, I cringe over the thought of her fawning over Ben at any given moment. She's deluding herself, he's gay. He's admitted it to her, and yet she's still in denial. And to be honest all we see her do nowadays is be in awe of Ben, who, she "loves" or else argue with Max, and since THAT FAMILY took over the show we've hardly ever seen her!

I also think that making Cindy a teenage mother as well has sapped Lola of potential storylines. After all who wants to see two young mums going through virtually the same thing?
The only thing I can really see to do with her is have her try to concentrate on her career, give her more work based stories which will have her interacting with stacey and perhaps a couple of other, new characters. Also, there is potential for a good dynamic with Kathy i think.
I actually wouldn't mind her being involved with Dean's demise. Have them get closer and either her discover the truth (he finally confesses to her) or him try and rape her. I wouldn't want him to succeed though, whilst rape is horribly common i don't think i could cope with yet another victim of it in the show.

I see her going down the career route, as we generally catch glimpses of her in Blades nowadays. Interesting re. Dean, particularly if they're going to expand upon what happened earlier on in this s/l where Dean wanted to take her for a drink and Shirley sent her packing. Lola seems to be sticking by Dean, so that could lead to the possibility of her finding out. Dean should not under any circumstances rape anyone else (I would honestly just stop watching EE then and there!) but I can see him making a very heavy pass or something.

I strongly suspect she's heading for the exit door she's barely even an extra these days.

Were these two actresses (who play Whitney & Lola) reprimanded for their behaviour cos it doesn't make sense

I strongly suspect she's heading for the exit door she's barely even an extra these days. Crying shame if so, I think she's a cracking little actress. She even pretended to give birth live and did a good job! Considering she'd never had an acting job before she's great. What I liked is that Lola wasn't a nice character when she first appeared but she's softened over the years and the actress manages to show you the girl with the big heart underneath. I would say she's one of the few female characters who actually improved when she was saddled with a baby, it brought out the best in Lola whereas (IMO) characters are usually stifled by them.
