Creepy yes. Like an old work colleague of mine who was always touching and caressing people on the face and arms and head without their consent, and who grabbed people, especially women by the arm quite roughly, and it hurt them. He did get spoken to about it and I spoke up as a witness for the women who I saw him do it to. I think he was not all there as he was a slow and sluggish worker, and was always pilfering other people's food and fags, and eating leftovers out of the kitchen bin. 🤮 Oh yes, there is more, when he broke wind, it stunk to high heaven, a colleague once said how she was stood near him once in the corridor then there was this terrific smell, and she knew he had farted. I dread to think what he ate, and if he ate scraps of food and dropped food, ugh. Deffo a weirdo. I reckon he was the kind of guy who could not be trusted alone around women and children. Also he was easily distracted at work and had no sense of concentration.

I have been watching re- runs of Where the Heart Is on channel 3 which ran for about 6 years in the early noughties. Two episodes a day which I record. Thoroughly enjoying it but coming to an end next week.
The number of soap actors on there has been incredible from Corrie ( Peter , Dev’s wife ), actors from Casualty, Doctors , Emmerdale
Maybe they all had the same agent.

One of my family members is a fan of Midsomer Murders and has got to Troy's last episode.

It's fun seeing actors from current shows in their youth in other programmes, for instance the Canadian long running hit "Murdoch Mysteries" had many cameos which included Peter Barlow and Tanya Branning. Tyrone stealing empty bottles from the back yard of the Aidensfield Arms and selling them back to Gina, not to mention his dog that he taught to steal golf balls. The series 'Pie in the Sky' starring Richard Griffiths and Maggie Steed had our Tim from Corrie as the sous chef Steve. Of course Dr Who fans remember Leela currently an Emmerdale regular but who remembers her as Pandora's Mum or being in. Doc Martin, The same for Brenda from the caff, she was the love interest in May to December but who remembers her as the tragic lace maker in The Onedin Line?

I prefer Bergerac over MM but do not mind MM. I feel shows like EastEnders, Neighbours and Midsomer Murders have usually kept to their original premises. Still as recognisable now as when they began.

I have just watched ten series of Where the Heart Is. I think every single character from Emmerdale and Corrie appeared in it at one time or another. It was dated 2005/6

Where the Heart is ran from 1997-2006, cruelly axed for no obvious reason and was an excellent home for ex soap stars 😄

They were on their way up. Samantha Giles in Emmerdale started there. Also Leslie Dunlop had a leading role although she started acting professionally when a teenager. Peter in Corrie also before he was on Corrie. Sarah Lancashire also. Ian Kelsey from Doctors. The list is very long. I loved the series. Why don’t they make series like that any more? It’s all crime and murder series.

I agree. Only so many perambulations of police procedural you can make before going over old ground really.

I agree. Only so many perambulations of police procedural you can make before going over old ground really. I have the first series of Bergerac on DVD and plan to buy more episodes. I watched the show a bit in its later years in the early 1990s. Hard not to compare Bergerac and Midsomer Murders due to that famous person in lead roles in both shows, and of which made him famous as well. I prefer Bergerac as it is more my era and not twee and outdated like MM can be. I feel which he was more unorthodox, Jim Bergerac was as polite and approachable as Barnaby. Although MM started off quite modern in the 1990s as it focused on Tom's personal life as well as professional life. But from the 4th series onwards it became more focused on the quaint looking but deadly murderous villages and it went a bit crazy with murders surrounding "witches", cudgels, curses, psychic babies, oddball vicars and the like, and the killers were probably inbred - they must have had Norfolk ancestry lolol. The episodes based on Caroline Graham's novels were the most realistic and best. Also Tom was more aggressive in the early MM episodes, like Columbo was in the pilot Prescription Murder. Toms cousin John also was more aggressive in MM when he took over from Tom. And Sgt Scott, Troy's replacement was more snarky in his early episodes before he vanished without trace and was replaced by Jones.

If you like dark comedy watch Boat Story which started tonight on BBC. I nearly laughed my socks off. Good cast and written by the Williams brothers who did The Tourist, The Missing and others. It also features one of my favourite actors Tchéky Karyo who plays an absolute baddie which is not the norm for him.

If you don't mind a lot of swearing I highly recommend watching the Irish programme Kin. It has been shown at silly o'clock on BBC1 but all available on iPlayer. I thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a second series which has been shown in Ireland but not available in the UK right now.
