The new book came out today to tie with the 60th anniversary. Will anyone else be getting it? Will see if my local Tesco has it tomorrow, hopefully it contains a lot of new information regarding behind the scenes.

I shall buy it. It apparently gives a lot of info on the Connor family tree.
I found out in the 1987 book that Stan Ogden's parents were Isaiah Ogden and Mary (Nee Pearson). Stan was an only child as he always stated, they did not Mike Baldwin him and bring in a brother of his to compensate for his death in 1984. Wally Ogden his name could have been, and he had been estranged from Stan for years. Jack Duckworth never mentioned his brother until he appeared in 1994.

I’ve seen some snaps of it online and it’s pretty good. Just one thing, on the Barlow family tree, it suggests Frank Barlow (Ken’s dad) is still alive at the grand age of 107!

Frank popped it inbetween 1971 and April 1975. In the ep shown 21 April 1975, Ken said his dad was no longer alive, but some books say Frank died on this date which is wrong. The book does seem to imply that Frank is still alive at 107 as other deceased characters have their year of death listed.

I do hope I’ve not pointed out a massive typo, and they’ll have to pulp the book.

The way it’s written suggests he’s still alive!

Abigail Kemp must have forgot to add his year of death or the writers have forgotten he died by April 1975 and assume he is still around at 107 years old.
Frank Pemberton died in March 1971 aged 56. He had a stroke in February 1965 and never 100% recovered. I guess the stress of being axed from Corrie and finding work hard to come by played a part.

Hmm, wonder if Frank will be making a surprise reappearance for the 60th Anniversary after being out of it for almost 50 years. Chris Gascoyne could play a double part (with makeup of course) as he slightly resembles the late Frank Pemberton.
In seriousness it is strange that they can't create a new death date for Frank and would instead give off the impression he is somehow still alive. Unless the writer of the book doesn't want to be responsible for making up a date, although they would be working with writers and archivists I'm sure.

They lost the best archivist they ever had when Daran Little joined Eastenders.

People can live to 107, the world's oldest person is Kane Tanaka aged 117. Also if you type in 107 year old, they tend to look much younger than a 107 year old would look 40 years ago.
Ken deffo stated in April 1975 that his dad had died by then, so Frank died inbetween February 1971 and April 1975. Unless Abigail Kemp does not want to give a date of death for Frank as his exact DOD was never told. Perhaps she worries it will be contradicted by any scripts given in episodes shown Feb 1971 to April 1975, or an old headstone in the props warehouse that never made it to any broadcasts.

They lost the best archivist they ever had when Daran Little joined Eastenders. Yeah and we ended up getting errors like Kevin forgetting he has a dead son.

Wonder if Minnie Caldwell is still alive at 120.

Daran Little has ramped up continuity in EastEnders as well. As with any long running show, there will always been room for errors and people forgetting things. The ages and/or birth order of the Beale's, Sugden's and Ramsay's/Robinson's in their 3 soaps has always been over the place.
