The show has not had a good producer since Kate Oates left. She had her flaws as did Stuart Blackburn but they were Shakespeare compared to Iain MacBollox and his successors Kate Brooks and Laura Shaw with Jane Hudson as executive producer.
The show is in dire need of the reset butting being pressed. Get rid of Dan, Jazzhands, Paul, Vinny, Jamie and Will. Bring in a new farming family. The show is being panned on social media alike. Yes it has had to ditch the original farming format to an extent but needs to regain the quality it once had. EastEnders and Neighbours seem the closest to their roots.

I gave up in watching it over a year ago. It's still on in the background but I'd rather do other things.
I still read the posts and think I probably made the right decision.

I gave up watching months ago and although I do miss posting my sarky comments on this board, I do not miss watching the show at all. I saw a bit of it when I was changing channels of a hamster faced Moira with some bloke young enough to be her son, supposed to be her brother? Whaddaload of codswallop. I just could not get past the dog faced vicar and the old codger Malone shagging leading to mur-durr repetition. Dire.

First is I would rewrite the major error that map had which was 100 years old and mentioned "Emmerdale" not Beckindale. I would say it was a reprint only 20 years old and was updated to say "Emmerdale". Also I would bring in a new farming family with a traditional Yorkshire surname such as Hepplewhite, Braithwaite or Blenkinsopp. |

It can be salvaged, get rid of the current 3 producers, even The Hat was better than the producers we have now. Try and get Kate Oates back from Borehamwood, offer her anything she wants.
The show has many things going for it, the time slot at 7:pm, the wonderful backdrop/set of Yorkshire, a very good cast. Just start to produce decent good story telling.

Good point about these new siblings looking young enough to be the sister's kids! I was getting my head in a right spin wondering if he could be Moira's son, trying to work out the time lines from she had got with John and had Holly - then wondered why I gave a shit about the established backstories when TPTB didn't and just changed established narrative to suit the storylines. Moira in particulars backstory is more bendy than a pipe cleaner! It's particularly mirthful when Manpreet and Meena talk as if they were brought up together! Nope, she'd have been much older sister babysitting not playmates. Ridiculous. |

The programme is going downhill quicker than Franz Klammer on greased skis. Dan's 'poverty' storyline. Feck's sake, could write a thesis on what they got wrong and then ending with the sensationalism of them thinking that social services are going to sweep Amelia away because they're poor! Surprised they haven't got a Victorian, black and bleak building in the background with Dan nervously eyeing it and declaring 'we'll end up in t'work house ...'  The over-emphasis on 'Vanity'. Charity is a great character but NOT with Vanessa. Yet because some numpties wet themselves on social media about this on-screen couple that's it, they're front and centre with one drama after another and in the process are (to me) ruining Charity (just like they did Robert with Robron). But we also can't ignore that Vanessa is played by one of the producers wives yet is, for a village vet, overused. That cannot be a coincidence and nepotism at it's worst. Quite a few characters aren't on screen yet the only one that's been mentioned all the time and even seen via a tablet has been Vanessa. Funny that eh? Chas snarling and treating Paddy like shit but he always ends up apologising to her even when he's not actually done anything wrong. If the tables were turned it would be getting called abuse. The continual vilification of Liam because he had the cheek to move on after Bernice moved away and dumped him! The slut shaming of Moira continues - this time by her brother Jamie having a 180 degree character change from wet vet to nasty bastard. Pregnant Tracey being OK about her fella taking the blame instead of Belle and probably going to prison so he'll miss his child's birth and for ever how long afterwards. Yeah OK ED And this is all I can think of just sitting here before I go shopping! The programme is rubbish at the moment and needs an overhaul. |

The show is getting worse. Yet nobody is telling the producers that they are going too far here. Nothing is being done. All ITV care about are ratings and profit.

Was thinking the same that's why I joined here. Just watched both of today's episodes and I really think something has to change. I'm getting all upset how stupid everyone around Meena seems to be.
