Hello I wonder if anybody could advise me what might be going wrong when I'm attempting to upload an avatar from my pictures? It keeps giving me an error message, error number 1 iirc, and won't let me upload a pic. I'm using an iPad if that info helps. Thanks in advance

I had the same problem when I tried to do it from my iPad when I joined. It kept saying the image was too big, but I had no problem doing it on the laptop

Thank you Mia. I had a funny feeling it might be ipad related.
Will try and get on the lappy at some stage to spruce my profile up. Much appreciated.

Yes, the lappy is the best way. Upload as a png or jpeg rather than a bmp.

Thought you'd be okay. It infuriated me when I was trying from the iPad but was fine on the laptop. What language is it on your avatar? Russian?

Does that make me sound exotic? Lol No, the real story is that when I signed up for DS I was trying to come up with a user name and my eyes randomly fell upon an old tube of medicine on the shelf that I had for my baby. The medicine was called Daktarin (for when they get a thrushy mouth), I fiddled around with it in my head and called myself Daktara. Then when searching for an avatar I typed in Daktara on Google and a dodgy looking Lituanian tv show called 'Kvieskite Daktara!' (Call the doctor!) popped up so I nicked their logo. I now like to make believe that I am somehow medically minded, haha. Apologies for the long reply Mia, hope you haven't nodded off to sleep!

It reminds me of an old TV programme called Daktari. I think it's interesting how people come up with their forum names (sad aren't I)

I have( had ) red hair ! Greyish now. I used to speak the language because we had an old Aunty come over to live with us and I was a child and picked up the language easily . Forgotten it all now.My son uses Daktarin for athletes foot! My maiden name was Faraony and I bet you can't pronounce that !
