He had so much confidence in himself that he fired Tamwar because of a mistake HE made Because he is just that cool. Yeah, shame he's leaving with barely any on-screen development yet Shirley gets wasted and has a go at everyone for the millionth time.

The exact same thing happened with Tosh, the character was finally getting interesting and the actress was improving and then she was given the old heave ho with a hasty conclusion to her storyline.

Bye Mr Cool *sobs* Even when he was hastily packing to do a runner there still wasn't a hair out of place. Whaddaman! Boy am I going to miss him *mega snobs & blows nose into hankie* I might be a while as I'm going to Albert Square to slap Roxy daft for losing us the divine Aleks. Couldn't keep out of her brother-in-laws knickers could she? Bayitch!

Daft decision. Charlie and Alex were good creations and this rushed exit was pointless.

Daft decision. Charlie and Alex were good creations and this rushed exit was pointless. It was, Aleks had a lot of potential, he was getting one over the marketstallholders and we could have had an epic fallout when the likes of Kat and Donna cottoned on. But no, it was much easier just to ship him off.

Great interview, he comes across as a lovely man. Didn't realise he'd been here since 2005. Sounds to me that they were wanting to either not give him a pay rise (which he naturally thought he deserved) or they were going to cut his hours which is tantamount to a pay cut. Or maybe he heard what they had in store for Aleks, didn't agree and EE wouldn't budge? He seems to want immigrants reflected realistically, perhaps TPTB wanted Aleks to go really dark and he thought it was a 'immigrant' cliche? (A bit like Martin Platt when the actor refused outright to let his character go down the being attracted to under age girls route so no new contract signed.) Either way he's not burning his bridges by telling us, lol!

Great article. I think I love him even more after reading it. He comes across brilliantly but it does make me even more sad that Aleks has left No real idea about what the disagreement regarding his contract might be but like Lotty said I think it could well have been a disagreement about the portrayal of an immigrant as he mentions this a few times. Good on him if so and he has stuck to his guns over this. He is clearly a principled man
