I always said they should bring in Paul Cheveski back into the show. He is almost 55 now and the grandson of Elsie Tanner. He probably has children himself and maybe grandchildren. He last appeared in March 1972 so 44 years, plenty of scope to recast him.
Damien Ogden, grandson of Stan, could bring in a new batch of Ogdens. much better than endless Connors or Windasses.

I would like Christine Hardman to come back to the street, she would know Ken and Emily. Perhaps she re married, had children and grandchildren. She could buy number 13 off Kevin. Although the actress who played the part (Christine Hargreaves) sadly passed away many years ago, the part could be recast and provide a friend and a link to the past for Ken.

They brought back Dennis Tanner as a face-from-the-past for Ken then promptly turned him into a money-grubbing con merchant who ripped-off Our Reet and did bunk with that hideous old bag whose name I cannot even remember now. Hell if they bring anyone back from the distant past there no telling what they could be. No doubt they'd have to be gay otherwise theres no point is there?

Her daughter married Ivan Cheveski.

I kinda like Johnny in isolation. He thinks he's Mike Baldwin MK2 with that Jag XJ-S but he's just a pretender to the throne.
I think the problem is there seems to be an obsession with families. Everyone's got to be connected to somebody else. Take Mike Baldwin, yes he had a Dad and a 'London' wife but you saw them once and that was it. The rest of the time he was a singleton and it worked so well. Let nature and good storylines take their course. Marry someone off, divorce them, widow them even but don't keep bringing in random cousins, siblings, aunties uncles etc, it just gets silly. With the Connor ensemble (who must now take up half the cast) we now have this ridiculous situation where Carla was always a Connor and therefore married her own cousin!
Single characters work well. Look at Roy, Mary, Erica, Norris etc. They are all single people who have no family in the Street but they bump along very well and interact with a lot of characters, you don't need 27 cousins to be a good character!
I do like the idea of a reintroduction of a former character but why not do it without some agenda to make them centre of attention, I am concerned they might try and bring back Curly but make him a transsexual just to tick a box!

Bring in a granddaughter of Martha Longhurst. Her daughter was born in 1926 so any grandkids would be about 70 or under.

They should leave them in the past. Having connections to classic characters won't make them any better than the other types of newcomers. Let them come in on their own.

I would love to see Gary Mallet back with his twins Billy and Becky. They would be nearly 18 now. Although with vicar Billy in the street - it might get a bit confusing. But there isn`t many people in the street who would know who Gary Mallet is....Ken, Norris, Reet, Gail, Audrey, Kevin, Sally, Roy, and possibly Nick and Tracy. Actually that`s quite a few now I think on it LOL.

Samantha Failsworth. She left in June 1998, allegedly pregnant with Des Barnes child. The baby was probably born late 1998 so would be 20 now.
