I do know what you meam anouT Smith's vocals going all over the place. As a former singer who could do different octaves in different voices (high soprana/soprana/alto) I admire his range but equally there have been songs I've had to decline singing (on stage) because it would be to obvious to switch fromm from one range to another.
That said, he is 20 years younger than me. I'd be hard pressed to reach lower soprano now for anything more than a couple of minutes and one octave range.

Why do most people think A View To A Kill is so bad anyway? I love it, though I'm not keen on Stacey the Bond girl or h er played by Grace Jones who's name I've currently forgotten. Roger Moore is my favourite Bond, I love all of his, think my favourite of his is The Spy Who Loved Me, on a purely shallow note, as he looked so damn delightful in that Royal Navy uniform -face . BIB - Mayday Most of the hate for A View To A Kill (from what I've seen, anyway,) is the fact that Roger Moore was too old for Bond. Admittedly he does look a bit haggard, but I still manage to look past that and enjoy the film. Stacey was extremely annoying; you could've made a drinking game fromm the number of times she yelled "James!". As for Bond themes, AVTAK is my favourite one, (no Duran Duran bias at all ) but I also really love Gladys Knight's Licence To Kill. I can't listen to Carly Simon's Nobody Does It Better without thinking of Alan Partridge s0238

I love James Bond, I have to admit I didn't see Daniel Craig as a Bond but he is superb, Skyfall was the best bond film ever, just watched Spectre and yes it was excellent but doesn't top Skyfall.
I think Sam Smiths song is dire, I had to turn volume down during his bit.

I also really like the Livng Daylights and thought Timothy Dalton made a good Bond, shame his only other one was the awful and really horrible License To Kill (gave me nightmares that did when I first saw it, I still can't watch it apart from the oil tanker bit at the end) . I quite liked Pierce Brosnan's Bond too but Goldeneye was easily the best of them. Sean Connery is my second favourite after RM and whilst Rm is my favourite Bond, my favourite overall film is Goldfinger. In my opinion, him and RM got the best ones though I agree with you Lotty that Moonraker was a bit OTT! One minute he was in the US, next he was in Venice?, then Brazil then into space! They threw everything including the kitchen sink at that one . The new ones with Daniel Craig have never appealed to me, I just can't see him as Bond at all, not helped by the theme tunes being dire and not in the slightest bit appealing. Bond theme tunes are iconic, they add a huge part to the film, one of the reasons I didn't really like Die Another Day was due to Madonna's awful song. Seriously, she's supposedly the queen of pop and that was the best she cold come up with?! I loved A View To A Kill as well, but it does get criticised heavily and as somebody else mentioned it's largely down to Roger Moore's age he was about 55 when it was made, which does rather make a mockery of what somebody that age could realistically do. I am able to glaze over that, and Patrick Macnee was in it who I love. I didn't mind the Dalton films, I thought Brosnan was a good Bond, really good I enjoyed three out of four of his efforts. Roger Moore and Sean Connery were the ones I grew up with so I tend to prefer their versions of the character.

I must confess I have only seen the Daniel Craig ones. I have never been that much interested in watching the "original" films, but who knows maybe one day. Something else to add to my list on things to watch.
Still liked the Daniel Craig films, although I only own Casino Royale and remember nothing of Quantum of Solace.

I love Daniel Craig as Bond. He's the only one I've sat there watching and got what all these women see in him I grew up with Roger Moore's Bond, so tend to know those films better as I've seen them the most. I like AVTAK - it feels like it's on the telly every weekend though.

The 1960s James Bond films are great as they were all originally filmed in colour and give a great insight into the 1960s in colour.

I don't care if it's considered one of the worst Bond movies and I don't care if Roger Moore was, like, a million years old when he did it... I adore A View To A Kill !! It will always be my favourite Bond movie; fabulous theme song and Christopher Walken made a terrific villain. I can watch it over and over again and never get bored. One of the best films and impressive because it's a 2 hour film from one of Fleming's shortest stories. Folklore says that Moore retired from Bond when he found out that not only was he older than his leading lady (he was 55, she was 29) he was actually 2 years older than her mother! Moore even has a great sense of humour now. He tweets and when he heard Daniel had broken his wrist in filming last year was immediately offering to "dust off" the Safari suit! What I like about Dalton's interpretation of Bond is that it's totally different to Moore's and that worked so well. We'd had 12 years of one style and it was time for a totally new attitude. Dalton's Bond was serious. I doubt he cracked a joke throughout either film, although his sarcasm was dry. Dalton was penned in to do Goldeneye but the legal battles pushed it back so much his contract expired and he walked away. A shame really as I would have loved to have seen his style on Goldeneye.

I don't like Bond films... But I went to watch The Spy Who Loved Me at the cinema in Butlins back in the day... I loved it... Not watched any others as it bores the pants off me... Oh I thought you would have been perfect for the next Bond... mind you, you would have to keep it clean you mindless filth mongerer you.

I found a rare DVD of 'On Her Majesty`s Secret Service', and I bought it for hubby for Christmas. In all places 'Big Lots'. I couldn`t remember which Bond films he had on DVD, and this one was the only one he hadn`t got so hubby was thrilled. The only Bond film that George Lazenby starred in, and I think the first one if I`m not mistaken. And it`s weird, because I never even saw it on the shelf first time I looked. It was if the DVD jumped in front of my eyes if you know what I mean.
