Where on earth did Eliott's love for Brigitte come from? That exit seemed very rushed. Sad to see him go though Fab episode apart from that with the Dom and Digby scenes

The Dom / Digby stuff was great (especially the kiss) but the rest of it left me either cold or angry.
Brigitte is a complete retcon. As I talked about in the spoiler thread, it was established in Seasons 8 and 9 that Gina and Elliot met as Freshers at University, got together quickly and married after 6 months, meaning they were married for 25 years despite her dying in her early 40s. Now, suddenly, there is a girlfriend before her, also met at University who he was going to marry? And dumped at the alter? No matter what the reason, i don't believe that Elliot would do that.
Lovely to see jac of course but frankly, if all they can do with her is have her split up with Jonny off screen, after less than 6 months, in a flippant, one sentence, scornful way then i'd rather she'd actually left for good in April.
I loved Joseph, I loved their relationship, i have always accepted abd believed that she loved him in a way she would never love anybody else.
But i also believe that she loved Jonny too, in a very different way but still love and that if they stopped ripping into each other (as they had) they could have a reasonably happy and contented life together.
But it strikes me, that TPTB don't want any of their characters to actually develop, they want to keep them in their pigeon holes because it is easier to write them that way. And jac's pigeon hole is 'snarky, nasty, bitchy, bitter, backstabby, incapable of loving or being loved, incapable of maintaining a meaningful relationship". If they let her have a meaningful relationship, even an off screen one, they might actually have to take her in a new direction and they are too lazy to do that.

If there is another custody battle, or it is stated that Jac has given up Emma again i really will have had enough. That said, i don't think Jonny deserves to lose Emma either.
I hope if it does come up, they just state that they are co-parenting amicably.
I just feel this episodes pissed all over Gina and Jonny. Apparently Elliot has loved Brigitte all along, his face lights up in a 'love of your life' kind of way. He would never have left her if she hadn't had an abortion. So what was Gina? His rebound? Good enough for him to settle for because she was willing to have kids?
Joseph is the love of Jac's life, nobody else will ever match him. So what was Jonny? Again, a rebound? A 'silly little nursey' who was never going to work long term? A 'make do'? She was a real bitch not just letting him move on and be happy with Bonnie then wasn't she. Also, an idiot to leave like she did in March.

Please don`t make Elliot`s leaving permanent HC execs. Sorry everyone, you can all blame me for Elliot`s exit. It seems I`m a jinx lately with people I like on shows that end up leaving.

LOL amber jade and HoleyI wish it was that easy. But my spleen has been vented so often about Stereotype Sean, no one would ever believe I like him. And I don`t watch EE anymore.

Your liking (or at least not hating as others do) Adele gives me sme hope for the future!
I like Elliot too most of the time but have felt for a couple of years now that they were running out of directions to take him in.
Much as i love Holby, they do seem to have an idea of what their popular characters should be don't develop them after a few years, just leave them as they were about 4 years in. Even if they do get a major plot, they seem to default back to a 'setting' after a few weeks such as Elliot always being the 'genius bafoon', Ric the 'wise grumpy sage who stares into middle distance', Jac the 'emotionally unavailable, damaged woman due to her history', Sacha the 'great guy Who loves all but gets dominated by women, his mother, his wives/girlfriends, his daughters', Spence' well meaning but hot headed and always controlled by his vanity and his penis'
Does that mean i don't love all the characters I've mentioned above, yes i do and I generally love long serving characters but I'm not sure they are being very well treated by Oliver Kent. And part of me would rather they go before they become tired. Which is why i didnk( mind spence going (although he is one of my top 6 characters ever), why i don't really miss Ric and don't think I'll miss Elliot and am not that far off thinking jac will soon be in such a rut she should go too.

It appears to have been Paul Bradley's decision so I don't think there is much TPTB ca do about it. They seem keen to have him back anytime he wants So.....

After watching Saturday's Casualty you realise how good Holby City is. No you don't! Sorry, I'm really down on Holby at the moment but then I have been for most of the past 2 years! It probably is better than Casualty (except for that Charlie 2 parter a few weeks ago) but that really is saying very little. They are both shadows of their former selves.
