Anyone else looking forwards to the Olympics? Should be interesting at the very least with the uninhabitable accommodation, filthy water, and Zika virus all looming over the event.
Not sure what all the fuss is about performance enhancing drugs either... the more the better I say. Forget Usain Bolt running the 100m in 9.58s, let him tank up and run it in 4 seconds.

I can't get excited, 2012 was a fantastic year, good weather, the Jubilee (we had a street party) and then the Olympics, here in the UK.
Local girl Anna Watkins won gold in the Double Sculls and the Post Box right outside my office is painted gold as a result.
With all the problems Rio has, this seems like it'll be a disaster and damaging to the Olympics in the long run.

I have a fear for these Games, don't know why but something's telling me so. Don't know what the Brazilian security will be like but I hope that all goes well for those concerned. I will be watching the track and field cause that's all I am really interested in but then again maybe the swimming etc, if GB have a good chance.

2012 was brilliant, the whole country had a fantastic atmosphere because we just kept on winning medal after medal! I remember before hand there was (just like Rio) loads of negativity, nothing was completed blah blah blah yet I think we put on one of the best games ever. Fantastic. Bravo us.
I can't get excited in the same way about Rio but I hope after all the negativity it goes well for them but it does annoy me that they're spending millions upon millions on the games yet they have huge populations living in shanty towns/the street and like Wallis says you do worry about the security in these times. Fingers crossed. Be extra vigilant Rio.
I usually end up watching things I don't normally watch like swimming, gymnastics, rowing, judo, sailing etc. I love the diversity of the Olympics, so many sports in one place.

I`m so ticked off that some of my shows will be taken off for the Olympic games, that I won`t watch it on principle. And I probably won`t watch the opening ceremony either. London 2012 was perfect, and I doubt if Rio can top it. Yeah I know its only every 4 years, but with so much bad stuff going on around the world - I do like to take a break, get my knitting needles out and watch my fave shows. Watching sports just doesn`t do it for me. Brazil although a beautiful country - it`s a dangerous place at the best of times. How they will keep people safe is beyond me when they can`t even keep their own citizens safe.

I'm not into all that sporty stuff... The birds look like blokes and the blokes look like birds... I blame it all on that Zara Budd bloke... Running in bare feet like that... Bloody hippy...
Plus the footy starts a week on Saturday...

LOL those lefties like Piers Morgan are furious because an American teen won a gold medal for shooting. It was only an air rifle for gawds sake Piers. And no congratulations from him for a virtual unknown beating a world class champion either. What a merchant he is.

America can keep Piers for all I care. He doesn't deserve to hold a UK Passport.
