Hubby just switched on the tv, and was watching 'the Waltons' on the Inspiration channel. I happened to glance up and saw what looked like Rose from 'Upstairs Downstairs' playing the part of a German lecturer at John Boy Waltons university.
I said to hubby ...
Me : Hey that don`t half look like Jean Marsh
Hubby: Who?
Me: Y`know Rose from Upstairs Downstairs
Hubby: I can`t remember
Me: Yes you do...Mrs Bridges, Mr Hudson. (Then I start humming the theme tune.)
Hubby : Oh yeah. Hey you`re right - it does look like her.
So I went to IMDB and typed in Jean Marsh.....and sure enough it was Jean Marsh. That particular Waltons episode was made in 1977, so Upstairs Downstairs must`ve more or less finished by then.
I tell you what, Jean is brilliant at accents. Her German accent was so authentic it had me second guessing myself.
I love being right.
