Annie Walker's not under the radar neither...
I guess you can tell that the Beast from the East is still on strike... I'm not giving in though... Not while I have my best friend... Old right hand here...

I think I would have banged Rita back in the day as well... In fact I'd probably rag her silly right now... If she offered to drive me home from the pub while on full tilt... The dirty cow... Aye, but when you were banging her you would eyes full of sequins and glass stones as they popped out of her wonderful glitzy wardrobe.......

Eleven years ago to this day Martin Platt left Coronation Street and made the rightful decision to never return again and risk dying due to Gail's curse. On a sadder note, four years ago today Bill Tarmey passed away (of course I left something for Jack Duckworth a couple of days ago). Thank you Bill for bringing great entertainment. Jack is still missed.

It does cause a lot of contrivance though, Martin never reappearing, missing his son's wedding, daughter in law's funeral etc etc. I always found Martin to be a good character well acted by Sean, although towards the end it did seem like they'd run out of things for him to do.

Eight years ago to this day the Windass family made their first appearance. To this day they have still got to pay for the kitchen Joe fitted. I guess David frying her legs is Karma.

Today would have been the 37th Anniversary of Gail and Brian's first marriage. Poor bloke was the first of many unfortunate bastards to get involved with that curse. The episode also saw the first appearance of Jack Duckworth, who wouldn't become a regular until 1983.

Not only does today mark Coronation Street's 56th Anniversary, but it is also Leonard Swindley's 100th birthday!

Spooky that he and Kirk Douglas share the same birthday!

Swindley sent a telegram to Mrs Bishop in 1980 to her marriage to bigamist Arnie Swain (Beth Tinker's secret grandad as bigamy runs in the family it seems) but after 1980 we never got mentions of him in present tense. Swindley may have died some years ago.
Although he could still be alive at 100.

Is that all...? 18 sodding years...?
It seems ages ago... I must have been 28 years old at the time...

Alf's life insurance policy ran out at midnight and he died a few minutes after so Audrey was never entitled to anything.

A year ago to this day Emily Bishop departed for Peru. Could she be making a grand return this year?
