Was sad that Bryan Mosley's health started failing in the 1990s. Would have been great for Alf to make it to the millennium. Oh well.

Bryan Mosley died in February 1999 of a heart attack.
The Alf Roberts of 1961-early 1997 was a very different character to the late 1997-1999 one. He was a shadow of his former self after his several month break in 1997 due to Bryan's health. In 1998 Alf did look very frail.
Alf Stewart in H&A is very much like Alf Roberts. Both grumpy grocers and called Alf.
Alf Roberts in Corrie also looked like Roy Slater from Only Fools And Horses.

Sorry for lack of updates. Here is a quick one.
Yesterday marked 33 years since Elsie Tanner left the street.

This week Tracey Lynette Langton Barlow was born 40 years ago. I wish she was still upstairs listening to her tapes.

On the 22nd November 1963, 54 years ago today, the day Kennedy was popped in the head, Emily Bishop was told of this by Snooty Leonard Swindley. She then went and had a pork chop. These events must have took place offscreen as no ep was shown that day. The next ep was shown 25th Nov 1963 and the one before was 20th Nov 1963.

Today would have been Pat Phoenix's 94th birthday. She certainly did look younger than 60 in early 1984 when she left the show.

Twenty-eight years ago today Gail married Brian (the first in a long line of doomed husbands). Jack Duckworth also made his debut, although wouldn't become a regular until 1983.
Fourteen years ago today Cecil Newton died.

Fourteen years ago today Cecil Newton died. Didn't Gail and Brian remarry 28 years ago? Because it wasn't long after that Brian was stabbed to death outside a nightclub.

Nice mention of Cecil on Monday night. The boy chasing Gem-ima is his wealthy grandson.
