Well what can I say...?
I'm glad I went but it was no where near as good as the Corrie one...
Maybe it was that there was no outside set to go with it like there was at Corrie...
But most of all it's not the real sets...
They are mock-ups of the real sets which are located just a bit further up the road at the real studios...
The building these are in was once probably a TV studio but now it's just a building that houses the tour...
There are only 3 sets to see, 4 if you count the "mock up" set of Rhona's front room...
Where you can "film" a 10 second clip, send it to email and share with whoever...
So the "real" sets were Bernice's Salon, The Dingle's Hovel and the Woolpack...
In the Woolpack you were allowed to roam about but the other two had a guard rail stopping you from going near...
The rest was filled with mock-up's of a story liner room, a make-up room, wardrobe room & a corridor with some props in...
There was also a room where you could have a go at "editing" a clip between Marlon & Rhona (I think)...
And a room where we was going to feel the full effect of the Emmerdale weather during the storm that killed Trisha...
We were warned that there would be strobe lighting...
So we sat down and watched the scene taking place of everything blowing about...
Then about three minutes in and just before the end a wind machine and a smoke machine started...
And then promptly stopped, not a strobe light to be seen...
There was also another room where they talked about the helicopter crash...
We watched the scene with Dan dropping his pint and the helicopter heading for the village hall...
And as it hit the building there was a loud bang and red lights lit up...
Shining on to a mocked up roof with a rather false helicopter tail sticking out...
Oh and one last thing...
A room with a miniature village recreated at a quarter of the full size...
So overall a 6/10...
A pleasant couple of hours but not something I'd want to go and see again...
