At one workplace we had a radio station that must have just had 1 or 2 CD's maybe "The Best Of the 1970s" etc and they seemed to play the same songs every day and it bored the pants off many of us. Some songs I loved but as I heard them everyday it took the sting out of them. The "too much of a good thing" thing.

Smooth does this... They play the same songs everyday... And sometimes they play them at the same time, everyday... I know this because I go to the cash machine in town every night at the same timeish... And pound to a penny they are playing the same music... I listened to it for about 6 months as I'd had enough of the radio station I was then listening to... I kept expecting them to change the playlist after a few months... Nope... Just the same old shite day in day out... One of the songs I love is Tracy Chapman, Fast Car... And even that was starting to grate after a while... Like you said CEF... It takes the sting off them... I'm currently listening to KEY2... A local radio station but can be listened to on the Web... It plays a good mix of music and none of that head banging current shite... Listen here... planetradio.co.uk/key-2/player/?clientid=1887068920.1497548773

Glad you like it Charley. I used to listen to it a lot. Don`t bother with it on Sunday mornings (your afternoons) though as they have church services on. No I`m not kidding.

I used to love You Win Again by The Beegees but the radio station played it at least 3 times a week. I lost interest in the song.
In 2012 the Olympics kept playing Chariots Of Fire and took the feel out of the song.
I am sure a lot of the songs are pre recorded on radio stations. One time on the way to work they played Duran Duran then another song. On the works radio station, the same day, they played those very 2 same songs. Both stations were the 2 local radio stations, Radio Broadland and North Norfolk Radio.
