Although it's not been mentioned on here (I think)... Comedian Vic Reeves aka Jim Moir started filming this week for his part in Corrie...

I don't know about you guys... But I absolutely love this man... His comedy is right up my street and gets me howling with laughter...
I've watched him from the very beginning on C4's Big Night Out... Him, Bob, Les and Uncle Peter was a must watch on a Friday night back in the early 90's... I don't mind admitting that he's one of my all time comedy heroes...
He's been contracted initially for 20 episodes... Me personally hope that that is extended but only time will tell... What do you guys think...?

Shit... I spelt Coronation Street wrong... I thought it didn't look right so I spell checked it with the Logo on the banner... And still got it wrong...
What a spanner...

I love Vic Reeves too. 'What's on the end of your stick Vic?'

He is going to be as funny as piles. I can see me throwing something at the TV when he is on. He will be about as funny as Paddy McGuinness was when he did his stint. I Can hardly wait.

I do have reservations about yet another 'Celeb' signing. We've had Les Dennis and Paddy McGuinness walk down the cobbles with little success.
This is because EE have Bonnie and Danny and Richard Blackwood. Corrie are desperate to land a 'big name' and keep them long term. I don't think they really need one.

UVAVU!
PS. Always preferred Bob personally, and aren't a fan of stunt castings, plenty of decent actors out there looking for a break.
Leave the big names and the resurrections from the dead to the desperado dwindling Cockney soap.
I find a character far more believable if it's somebody I'm not already over familiar with.

I must admit I haven`t seen much of Vic Reeves, so I went on good ole YT to watch some of his stuff. He`s no Bob Monkhouse (my benchmark of great comedians), but he`s not bad. I`m looking forward to seeing him in Corrie.

Quite impressed with Vic's character at the moment... A big cheer came from here when he first appeared... Loved him when he kept talking into the microphone...
I hope he gets a longer contract and does buy the Kabin...

Vic is a welcome addition to Corrie. Although I would not trust his character Colin as far as I could throw him.
