A little disappointed this year with the Last Night of the proms with the National Anthem near the end. We ususally get the traditional 2 verses, with the first verse sung very quitley then the second in a great crescendo. This year was a version from 1969 which was not as good imo.
Also when have we ever had Auld Lang Syne conducted with an orchestra? It may seem petty but, don't break the tradition BBC, it has been like this for Donkey's. Leave it be. However I did enjoy the montage at the end of the best bits of the prom season.

If so then Auld Lang Syne would have been a nod to the Scottish involvement.

Normally Auld Lang Syne is sung by the promanarders.

They had regional songs performed on site.in Glasgow and I presume somewhere in Wales and NI (went.upstairs to sort washing for a few.mins) to reflect UK as opposed to just England which arguably Jerusalem and even the National Anthem are.
I just thought the crowd was a little lack lustre this year so they didn't encore the National Anthem.
Though, I don't remember Auld Lang Syne being included before and it was part of the main concert. Don't see a problem with it being included though.

I think the problem with the National Anthem was, they, we didn't know when to come in and start singing, it was an odd start to the Anthem.

A good last night of the Proms. Nice to have Andrew Davies back conducting. I was pleased we had the traditional version of the National Anthem, 2 verses last night. With that and Jerusalem hit the spot.

'Land of Hope and Glory' never fails to bring tears to my eyes.
