I wish I was a scriptwriter for Emmerdale.
My idea for a future storyline is one of the houses in the village collapses due to structural weakness/faulty beams. No need to guess what other soap had such a storyline that has influenced this Emmerdale storyline. But the Emmerdale storyline leads to more revelations regarding the White family, now that Lozza has died though.
In late January 1988 as we saw in a storyline back then, there was a flood at the house which was habited by Caroline Bates and her children Nick and Kathy. Kathy's wedding dress was ruined so Annie lent her old wedding dress to Kathy.
So my storyline idea is this. Fast forward 30 years to 2018 and the house collapses due to the flood 30 years earlier. Eric Pollard mentions he said there was a flood "around 30 years ago". Robert also says he was too young but can remember his dad talking about it, seeing as Knobert was Jackie's brother. When they are rebuilding Victoria Cottage, they find an old newspaper edition of The Hotten Courier from 1957 hidden under the old underlay of the kitchen. We find out that the owner of the house in 1957 had been accused of killing his wife and his name was Thomas White, Lawrence's uncle. Thomas was acquitted and he kept the newspaper edition on him to celebrate. He later died and the house was renovated, and the paper ended up under the underlay. But we then hear that he may have actually killed his wife but the case was dropped due to lack of evidence.
