Kate Oates and TPTB will rue the day they dismissed Bruno when he hadn`t even been convicted. They were judge and jury in a kangaroo court even before the facts came out. They could`ve suspended him until his trial, and fired Bruno if he had been found guilty by a jury of his peers.
And now we have a great character who will be gone from our screens soon, and his career forever tainted. Even if he`s found not guilty - mud sticks. The best Bruno can hope for now is a few weeks in panto a year. It`s just so unfair, and I feel so sorry for him.
I liked Todd from his very first scenes as a young teen. He was a natural actor, and seemed to blend in perfectly.

Todd Hitler was a rarity in soaps, almost unique. A gay character who was actually interesting and not defined by his sexuality.
He also handed Horrible Eileen her arse for a hat on many occasions.
I'll miss Todd Hitler too.

No one deserves to be condemned without their side being given, or being proven guilty. Innocent until proven guilty is how people should do things. Unfortunately the police and authorities go by the guilty until proven innocent.
I hope one day we see Bruno back in Corrie, he is given a reprieve.
To just sack someone without finding actual proof of their guilt just smacks of big brother attitude.

They can only have gone on the word of other people ........unless of course he was caught in the act by a reliable source but even that is just hearsay .
I think is it disgraceful of ITV to just sack him outright without waiting for a court case . There must be something we don't know that gives them the right to do that . Until I know different though I am giving him my support . I hope ITV end up with egg on their faces.

There is one thing I have noticed about all this......not one person at Granada have stuck their neck out defending Bruno. Their silence is completely deafening. Yet when Bill Roache had troubles of his own they were all coming out of the woodwork defending him. Even though it was common knowledge for years that Bill even gave himself the nickname c0ckroach because of his past dalliances with women. And this went on for decades. And another thing.....where were the people who were out with Bruno that night? Why haven`t they said anything? Which makes me wonder if Granada bigwigs have threatened them with their jobs if they say anything. They`re like the damn mafia. Maybe Bruno is better off out of it if that`s the way they treat their actors. It`s one rule for the chosen few like Cotton, Marsh, McAlpine - and another one for the rest. It`s truly sickening. smiley-angry

What would Bill Podmore think of all this?

I hope he claims compensation... He's got that scar for life now... What acting role is he going to get being disfigured...
Shame on you ITV...

Bruno was certainly one of the better actors on the show and boy are they going to miss him.
Over what has happened I really don't know what to say. All i can think of is that Granada must have something for them not to renew his contract. His contract expired, he was not technically sacked.
I suspect when this comes to court we will find out more.

All i can think of is that Granada must have something for them not to renew his contract. His contract expired, he was not technically sacked. I suspect when this comes to court we will find out more. Exactly Holey. We don't know what he's told them, he might well have done this / or something stupid and 'fessed right up to his bosses saying ... "Look I did something I shouldn't have, I'm really in the shit here guys and don't want to embarrass you or myself" ... or something like. Maybe he's an inherently honest guy who made a drunken mistake and has come clean right from the start? Hence the immediate contract termination, the silence of his peers, etc etc. On the other side of things, here's a quick story ... my footy team had a striker a few seasons ago who was our top scorer and vitally important to us. He had a long history of being a loose cannon off the field and we were just the latest club in a long line who thought we could tame him. Then over the Christmas period he was pissed up one night, and got locked up for harassing his ex, smashing her house up, driving off drunk in her car, crashing, and then robbing a pedestrian of his mobile phone with menaces. A few days later when he was bailed, the club were all set to terminate his contract forthwith. Then he turned up at the club with his agent, swearing, professing and promising he was innocent and hadn't done it, so the club stood by him purely because he was pleading "not guilty" and was innocent until proven otherwise etc. The next five months he barely played because of the "pressure" he was under, as the club loyally stood by him and paid him his hefty salary each week (he was our top earner by a distance). Then the morning of his trial he changes his plea to "guilty" and gets four & a half years!!! Naturally the club were livid, he'd purposely screwed us out of about £26k during those five months in wages that a League Two club can ill afford, by lying to us. Clubs at our level haven't got a pot to piss in anyway, we're not Chelsea or Man United, we live hand-to mouth at the best of times. So maybe the guy that plays Todd has done the opposite of what he did? (i.e. the right thing) Just a thought.

I agree with a lot of what's been said by other posters but I'm sitting on the fence on this one until we hear the whole story. I want to believe his innocence but there's no smoke without fire as they say. Bruno must be appearing in court quite soon so info will begin to filter out.

I'll tell you what... I'm seriously thinking about not going on any more lads nights out... You don't know who is going to turn bandit on you these days...
Honestly, if my past ever caught up with me... I'll be doing a ten stretch in Strangeways... Where's the fun in going out and not having a laugh with a bunch of birds...?
So now your only allowed to look... Undress them with your eyes... You will be arrested for that next...
The worlds gone mad... Stop it spinning... I want to get off...

He was wrong. He was drunk but I still don't think he deserves to have his whole life ruined for that is what it amounts to. . Those women should have dealt with it there and then and not gone running to his employers . FFS ! As I said before he didn't rape them . Some groping . IMO the punishment doesn't fit the crime .

Such a shame, I guess he is unlikely to return to the show again. They will probably kill Todd off to twist the knife further.
