So following on from a post by Rovey who was replying to my post... I thought I'd have a nosey at the layout of Emmerdale village... And the location of the Dingle Hovel...
So here it is on Google maps...
Emmerdale Village...
As you can see Pollard's barn conversion isn't yet on there... Also ignore the tag someone has put on saying Wishing Well Cottage... It isn't, that is actually the Sharma's house...
So moving south from there the next entrance is to Pollard's factory, which he turned into his house... So we can safely say that would be the entrance to his new house... The next entrance is to the Dingle Hovel... It goes around Pollard's and into their "farmyard"...
So the gate they are protesting at must be that gate... But why would the access road flatten the Dingle's and not Pollard's as well...? Also there is a perfectly acceptable access road further south from the Dingle's entrance... As I'm sure the map we were shown had the golf course behind Wishing Well Cottage...
Of course I could be way off the mark...

Good map. thanks Charley. That thought always bothered me that with Pollard and the Dangleys living so close together than only one home could be saved. I`m sure it was Tom`s intention to bulldoze both houses all along. That lacky councillor is just a pawn in Toms evil games. Still, as long as he makes the dour Twig suffer - then it augers good for the future.

I wonder if the land behind Sharma Sweeties was the lorry park for Tate Haulage later Kings Haulage?

Looking at the map... On the bottom right is Marlon's house... Reportedly part of what's left of Demdyke Row, where Joe Sugden lived...
But who lives next door to Marlon...? And who lives in the house on it's own to the left...?
Ignore that last question... When you go on Street View it's clearly the Cricket Pavilion... Which I didn't think was that far away from the village...

I wonder if the land behind Sharma Sweeties was the lorry park for Tate Haulage later Kings Haulage? I know it was used when the King's constructed the houses that blew Dawn to smithereens... Did they use the haulage yard to build the houses on in the programme...?

I think they did so that confirms it was the old haulage yard.

Just looking at it again... Where is the scrap yard...? Is that on the same site as the Haulage Yard then...?
