I couldn`t watch Laurel and Hardy when I was a kid as they both frightened me to death, and I don`t know why. Even now watching them I still get a bit queasy. I must`ve had a nightmare about them as a kid.

Love love love these two... Right from being a nipper when they used to show them on a Sunday Morning...
My wife bought me for Christmas a few years ago a collection of their feature films... It has the originals in black and white and then also re-mastered in colour... I have to admit I prefer the black and white versions as they just don't seem the same in colour...

It also has many short films of the work they did before they met... I think it also has a documentary on their early careers which is quite interesting and why it was L&H and not H&L...
Funny that Stan Laurel was English and from oop North... Ulverston in the Lake District to be precise... He was also quite a business man who could get pretty tough when he wanted...

All good comedy comes from round these parts... It must be our Northern Humour brought about by laughing at ourselves and the grim conditions we used to live in...
