Doesn't suprise me that someone like Karan would say such a thing even though her son is mixed race.
But this isn't the first time the soaps have tried to either portray Brexit in a bad light, corrie made loads of comments about how the country is doomed following the referendum. And now EE is portraying what is obviously suppose to be a little Englander stereotype.
Not one soap has mentioned how it could be good about our supreme court potentially having there power given back, the united kingdom being able to govern itself and make it's own laws or the fact we are not going to be involved in an undemocratic system.
As a political student I hear many contrasting views about Brexit, but even then we are able to try and balance it out in a debate and let all voices be heard. The soaps haven't done that at all, which is the problem.
If they want to talk about Brexit at least balance it out, with more than just stereotypes from both sides of the argument!

Bravo Zeus...bravo. I`d like to see other soaps tackle Brexit on both sides. With Corrie being so one sided on the issue, their argument fell flat because of their obvious bias. I don`t watch EE, but it`s very brave of them to bring up this issue. It gets people talking that`s for sure.

Thank you Wendy I'm glad I'm not the only one who wants both sides to be talked about, if they really feel the need to talk about it. Tbh I felt Corrie bosses had sort of tried to express there views onto the characters, with the residents blaming issues on brexit. I have no problem corrie saying what they think, but they never had anyone tackle or argue the other side, which was in my opinion blatant ignorance to anyone with opposing views.

The Archers has been fairly even stevens with both sides and how it will affect farmers.
