Can any of you Emmerdale aficionados help me on this one...?
I know they used to use Creskeld Hall for the filming of the outside shots... But do the still use it...? I know when Zoe had it they had to build a false façade so they could blow it up when the Kings bought it... But somewhere in the back of my mind I'm sure they re-built the whole house on the Harewood Estate...?
Also when Chris Tate married Kathy they had a helicopter fly-by... To shoot a scene where they were all stood outside of a large house/mansion... Where was that...?
When Joe NotTom said to Graham that his Dad died in that room, nodding to the lounge... I'm sure that's wrong... If I remember correctly, where Chris Tate died was a long room with a staircase at the far end... He was in his chair to the right hand side next to a cocktail cabinet and you could see the stairs in the background...?
Also what happened to the Annexe where him and Kathy lived...? Was it called the Nursery or something...??
I know it's been blown up and set on fire since then... But the structure of the building would have to stay the same... I mean the layout could not be altered due to the downstairs walls being supporting walls...
Any information, photos or screen shots would be greatly appreciated...

Chris died in the left hand front room which was more of a study in those days. Frank had a big desk in there as well as the sofas. Technically that’s the same room now but looks very different.
The room on the right hand side was the office in NY Estate Days and Frank used it more as a Dining Room, at some point it’s been knocked into the Kitchen and the Hallway is wider now.
I’m certain the stairs used to be at the back of the hallway but a property like Home Farm is bound to have more than one staircase. Nowadays it seems to have some fancy wide staircase which we saw in the promo photos for when the Whites joined the show.
Absolutely right about the false front built for when Zoe blew it up.
Later on a fake exterior building was made but it seemed to be missing like most of the main building. It was used when Charity had it forcibly repossessed from her and Declan.

I may be wrong, I often am... But my recollection of NY Estates has Tubby Turner sat in the office at a desk in the middle of the room... There is a doorway in the background... And Joe Sugden enters through the doorway having come from the right... Which would make the NYE office in what is now the lounge of HF...

Okay I tried to work out the value to home farm, something I have been trying to do for years now.
The inflation calculator only allowed me to go up to 2016, so this is the value I came to home farm being.
In November 1989, Frank Tate brought it for 1 million, so taking inflation into account Home farm is valued at £2,283,168.32!
I imagine there has been huge development in this time to increase the value.
If anyone can tell it's true value I would be grateful

Wow 2 million quid for that? It`s a mausoleum the amount of deaths that have occurred with various family members owning Home Farm. It`s cursed.

Zeus....how many times has Home Farm been rebuilt over the years? Do you know? Good question, you have really got me thinking now😂 From off the top of my head it is twice, one where Zoe Tate blew the place up, and when Declan Macey set fire to it. So if there was to be big changes, it would have been in the last 12-13 years. Not sure if any owners have had mini revamps or added changes

Thanks Zeus. I was also thinking two times also with the Tates and Maceys. But wasn`t sure if it was rebuilt before then. Was NY Estates supposed to be Home Farm before they moved the set? I used to love watching early Emmerdale Farm when George wasisname bought it. I remember Jack Sugden had an affair with George`s wife. LOL

Yes it was the seat of the Verney dynasty, NY Estates bought the whole estate and set up Home Farm as it’s HQ and that’s when it got called Home Farm. Turner and Joe Sugden were the main managers from 1982-1989.
I was never quite sure what NY Estates was....

There used to be a meat distributer near to where my Mum worked back in the 80's... It was call North CountrY... With the N & Y in large capitals on the sides of the trucks... It always reminded me of NY Estates but I realise NY stood for North Yorkshire...

I think NY estates was just a property and land management company, and as Charlie says NY stood for North Yorkshire. I wouldn't mind a return of the company, maybe Joe Tate done business with them in the past?

I think NY is probably long gone. Firms like that have generally gone to the wall due to the rising costs and lower profits in farming.
What I have noticed is the way the owners of Home Farm have always tried to make Home Farm pay its way. Frank Tate had the holiday village, the Kings wanted to build houses on Home Farm Estates Land and the Maceys tried Glamping and Festivals.
If Joe(seph) wants to establish himself and ensure the third reign of the Tates at Home Farm lasts a long time he needs to get a business established there and have people living there with him. Loners don't last long at Home Farm.
