In July 2013, for my birthday, I spent 3 days in Manchester and Salford. I met several Corrie stars and also went to many Corrie locations past and present. Many of them were used in the titles but as I am always collecting old episodes whenever I see episodes on location I recognise the areas such as 1978 when Hilda Ogden retrieved Stan's dustcart was filmed in Langworthy near Rosehill Close towerblocks which I went to. I went up the Beetham Tower and took a photo of the refurbished 1966 towerblocks seen in the 1969-1975 titles. The towers were recently reclad. The one on the far right was the one seen in the titles before the camera panned to Cornbrook St. The Rosehill Close towerblock seen in that 1978 episode and the 1990-2002 titles. A pic I took of the Corrie set and the towerblocks beyond. Many more to come

In regards to the top pic, not the towerblock on the far left but the one one of left of the 3 towers to the right, well that is the towerblock that Violet Carson was pictured in 1966. Taken from Clifford Court, the middle of the 3. Jane Danson being driven out of the studios. She did wave but did not stop. The building on the right was used for the 1962 scene where Christine Hardman was going to jump but Ken Barlow saved her. A close up I took of the viaduct which the first outdoor set stood near to. St Clement Ordsall, Salford. Seen in the 1960-1969 titles and used for the wedding of Jerry Booth to Myra Dickinson in October 1963.

Brilliant pics. Thanks for posting them CAEF. I remember those tower blocks in the opening sequence. I had no idea they were so close to the Granada studios. More please

Here's a compilation of the title sequences...
My favourite is 1976... I started watching in 1977 so these are the first I remember but also it is filmed around Lower Broughton and Pendelton... two areas of Salford I was familiar with at the tender age of 7/8... The street shown at 1:24 was near my primary school and the actual house was where a girl in my class lived... The flats shown at 1:31 is where my Aunty May used to live...

Archie Street in Ordsall which was the street they based Coronation Street on... You can see the church at the end that CAEF photographed above...

Sorry been a while but here are more pics from my trip in 2013. The viaduct behind the rovers from the MOSI. The site of where Archie Street stood until 1971. A building site in Lower Broughton where some of the 1975-1989 titles were filmed. The streets seen with the towerblocks behind was in this shot, where the building work is going on.
