Introducing too many Dangleys, and making them the focal point of so many episodes that it`s not fair on the other characters. They need to cull the turd er...herd by at least half. And the way they get away with their crimes is just so infuriating. Twig should be in the slammer for years just for breaking into Home Farm and threatening arson. And then there`s the hiring of a known drug dealer to inflict harm on a bloke that embarrassed her. And also being an accomplice in the death of Genesis. How I loathe Twig, and it infuriates me no end that she`s not not serving time in jail because she`s the apple of the producers eye, and can do no wrong in their eyes.
Too many deaths and sensationalism by far. It`s only a small Yorkshire village for gawds sake - not downtown Chicago.
The plods being so cowing useless. Yes I know other soaps have the same problem, but the Hotten scuffers are laughable - and not in a ha ha way either.
Getting rid of Carl King. There was no need for it whatsoever. Because of Blackburns decision, there are now so many wasted opportunities.

I have lots of 1988 Emmerdale and EastEnders episodes on DVD. Watch Emmie and EE in March 1988 and compare that to March 2018, ad for a sec you think "What the hell happened"? In March 1988 some of the storylines in the 2 soaps was Den Watts planning to sell the Vic, Ian, Barry, Darren and Rod setting up a community film, Amos and Henry's battle of the beers and Jackie and Archie buying a new car. In March 2018 the 2 shows feature and acid attack, iron attacks, heists surrounding a very un scary Irishman and slutty wives.
I think if an acid attack took place in Emmerdale and EE in March 1988 the viewers would see it as very odd indeed.
