Clarkson went to boarding school near where we live in Repton and he described our town as the ashtray of the Midlands. Apart from that he is Marmite, love him or hate him, I am neither. Just think it is a mistake to bring it back. Won't be watching. Our TV execs have the imgaination of a knat. I have never known British TV to be so bad.

Yeah he called Media City something similar... About it being nothing but a hotel and a Costa... This was when Top Gear was considering moving to Salford... He said he would rather resign than re-locate to a wasteland...
It's ironic that in his newspaper column last week... He said he'd spent lots of time up in Manchester filming... Probably for the Promos for WWTBAM... I'm not sue if the whole thing has been filmed at MCUK though...
But I do like his presenting on TG and on The Grand Tour... So I have to let it pass...
Only the very young and the very beautiful can be so aloof... Hanging out with the boys all swagger and poise...
I didn't like Tarrant but I dislike Clarkson even more so it's a no from me.
I'm the same Wallis, i didn't mind Tarrant on Tiswas, but when he did grown up TV i could not take to him, it was the same with Philip Schofield, he was brilliant in the broom cupboard and doing Going Live with Sarah Greene, but after that i could not watch him without wanting to kick the TV.
Pip Schofield is soiled goods like Tarrant is. So is Smillie although she never did kids TV.
Wonder if Clarkson would have got backlash if he said Glasgow is the ashtray of the UK. Is Glasgow as bad as people say? Dover in Kent is slated but I have been there and it is not as bad as it is painted.

My avatar is a photo I took of where the first outdoor Corrie set stood from 1968 to 1982.

Glasgow is nowhere as bad these days. I've spent quite a lot of time there over the years and like most large industrial cities is has moved with the times.
The people are genuinely funny and welcoming. Get in a black cab in Edinburgh and the driver will usually not speak to you. Get in one in Glasgow and the driver will just about tell you his whole life story dotted with jokes.
It also has a huge number of fantastic restaurants.
Shows that people over exaggerate things due to a few bad areas. I have been to Manchester and it is a thriving place and quite clean. If I was offered a trip to visit either Glasgow or Edinburgh I'd pick Glasgow.

Dover is still okay, i have relatives on my dads side who live in Dover and my great Uncle used to be the light house keeper.

The contestants were embarrassing. I found JC rude too. It can be very scary appearing on Telly however. Much preferred Chris Tarrant and I still watch it on Challenge channel.
