I have to admit I hadn't heard of this one Wendy. It seems that it is a 30 part soapy/serial drama on the ABC (Ch2) that is being filmed in Western Aust (East Perth) & started production at the beginning of June. No air date has yet been announced, but I think it may be scheduled to start screening in August/Sept?? I see that well known Aust actor Marcus Graham is in it (You may remember him as the character Harvey Ryan on Home and Away). "Marcus Graham (Secret City, Cleverman) and Shari Sebbens (The Sapphires, Thor: Ragnarok) are just two members of an ensemble cast in a drama that centres on the fictional inner‐city neighbourhood of Arcadia Heights. Exploring the relationships between the residents of the Arcadia social housing tower and the people who live in the rapidly gentrifying community that surrounds it. The Heights mines the frictions and commonalities between the upper and working classes in the melting pot of urban Australia." "New Heights: ABC drama series starts production in East Perth" www.watoday.com.au/national/western-australia/new-heights-abc-drama-series-starts-production-in-east-perth-20180601-p4ziwn.html"ABC announces new soap, The Heights." tvtonight.com.au/2018/06/abc-announces-new-soap-the-heights.html

The Heights has started this week in the afternoon's on BBC One replacing Doctors at 1:45. I have Seen 3 episodes so far and I am impressed at the quality of the show. It is a working class version of Neighbours imo much better. There is no sugar coating with this drama. I think once I get into this it is going to be very good.

I watched 3 eps last night, and loved it. I would've watched 4 but it was after midnight by this point. I noticed that two of the producers were also involved with All Saints too....another show I still watch religiously on Hulu.

I love all the characters...they are so real. The only disappointment to me was that Bevan Lee's name wasn't on it as it has all the hallmarks of a Bevan Lee show. I'm working this morning otherwise I would watch the rest of the episodes.

Seems good, and not a blatant rip off of Neighbours and Home And Away.

I've watched the first 2 episodes and it's fair to middling for me. I will continue though because the TV schedules are abysmal at the moment.

I know TV is pretty poor, I have started re watching Spooks from the beginning on series 3. Both Matthew Macfadyen and Keeley Hawes have just left. Brilliant series. I loved it the first time round.

I loved Spooks, Holey. Like you say, it was a brilliant series. I haven’t watched it for some time, but I have the full DVD box-set.

I have been watching this and thoroughly enjoying it, but as you know my mum has dementia and she says it's the biggest shite ever and the screaming child should be drowned to shut it up because it's driving her nuts, I keep telling her she's nuts regardless of the baby.

It’s no “800 Words”

I agree, but I don't think it is trying to be. I loved 800 words, a shame it was axed.

I've actually got more into this the longer I've watched it. It's good to see that we will be seeing the 2nd series starting on Monday. I kind of watch 2 or 3 episodes on iPlayer as I'm not around during the day. So Pav is Patch's Dad and will Ryan come back when he finds out that Hazel isn't selling?

I think Neighbours and H&A seem to eclipse new Australian shows and steal their thunder a bit.
