Brax is like Phil Mitchell, the mindless thug who thinks he is above the law. Yes, from what I"'ve seen he very much is. I've nothing against the actor, seen him on 'The Wright Stuff' a few times and seems intelligent, personable and very different to Brax so must be half decent at his job. I didn't even mind Brax too much at the start when he was with Charley, it was a change of pace to have a bad boy like that but as it has gone in, we are meant to think he is in the right and root for him when he is just a childish thug.

I used to be a hugh Neighbours fan in its heyday. I stopped watching Home and Away a bit ago but recently have dipped in and out. Out of the two I would say Home and Away now. I can see why Home and Away whips Neighbours arse in Oz and why Neighbours is a little more popular here in good old Blighty. Neither set the world a light anymore and fair badly in their evening time slots.

I see they put on an old episode of Home & Away today on 5*. Has Home & Away gone off air for the time being or something? I thought they only did that at Christmas/New Year and the Summer Holidays?
Well, anyway, it was good watching the old episodes with the likes of Scott, Kane, Kim (AKA Thor) and the Sutherlands. Miles better than the Braxton crapfest. I actually rather watch the old episodes.

The thing that amuses me about the portrayal of Brax is how they try to make him out to be a "hero" of sorts and a sympathetic "good guy who is pushed into doing bad things". He's like Your Friendly Neighbourhood Thug.
At least with Phil Mitchell, they don't try to make us like him. We know he's an absolute bastard, there's no excuses made for his loathsome actions. With Brax, they try to con the viewers into liking him and justifying his criminal acts.

Neighbours, it is the much chirpier soap, H&A is just all doom and gloom. And endless generic background music.
H&A and EastEnders have a total humour bypass, they have no charm whatsoever.

Agreed CAEF. I long for the days of characters like Lance Smart, and Martin Dibble. The humour has really taken a back seat for the sensationalism in Summer Bay. I don`t see why we can`t have both.

It all depends what you want from your continuing drama. There is a warmth and comfort you get from watching Neighbours and CS, but I wouldn't say there isn't any humour in EE and H&A. Alf makes me smile often as does Irene and we have the wonderful Cornie Francis returning to the Bay this year. There has always been humour in EE, normally one liners, delivered waspishly with a sting, for example Phil last night described Kathy, Sharon and Shirley as Charlie's Angels, Steve McFadden drunk can be equally heartbreaking and hilariously funny. It also depends on your humour.

Would anyone say Emmerdale is more like Corrie or more like EE and H&A?

Would anyone say Emmerdale is more like Corrie or more like EE and H&A? That's a tough one, sometimes ED is a wannabe EE, but it does have warmth and humour and is heads and shoulders above CS.

One reason to watch Neighbours right now. Thanks to Aaron Brennan aka Matt Wilson.

Y`know who I really love in Neighbours HoleyD? Nate Kinsky. I think he`s lovely. He has a vulnerability about him that I find so endearing. And he has gorgeous eyes too. You can keep your Mark Brennans and your girly men pretty boys like Josh Willis. Nate is more manly than most of Ramsay Street put together in my opinion.

He does make me laugh, he has a gift for comedy, some of his expressions have me howling. I get the impression he could be as funny on screen as off.
