I watched the first episode of this tonight. Love how they have depicted the 70's. The twatter brigade who have the attention span of an embryo have given it the thumbs down already but I really enjoyed it as did the critics in the better newspapers. It's a spy thriller and all will be revealed. That's all I'm saying.

I have never got on with John Le Carrie nor understood him even since Tinker, Tailor days. I sort of enjoyed The Night Manager.
I found this one to be dismal ,dark and didn’t like it or understand it, I’m afraid. I will never keep up.
Won’t be tuning in again. That's just me because my late husband loved them ( along with football....sigh !) but got fed up with me saying " Who's that, what is he doing there, where is this now etc etc ?"

I must be one of the attention span of an embryo brigade as I could not get on with the 1st episode, I think i will swerve the rest of the series, it's not for me I am afraid.

Sad to hear that Holey as we often have similar tastes in drama. I never thought it would be everyone's cup of tea but I enjoyed it although I would say the 70's feel about it, which was well portrayed, could put many folk off especially if they don't know the history built around the drama. I will be watching again tomorrow night.

Well I think I am the only one on here watching this. The second episode stepped up a gear and confusing though it might be to some it is starting to unravel a little bit. I just love the cinematography and attention to the 70's detail. No mobile phones to alert someone that they are making a huge mistake. Love it!

I haven't watched this yet, but I've recorded it - I just need Wallis to tell me if it's worth my valuable time.
Otherwise it'll be going in the "delete" bin.
It didn't sound my thing, but the "1970s" bit seduced me, I love anything 60s or 70s. Especially if there's loads of smoking in bad places & tight-shirted tits.
I can pretty much sit through anything so long as I have those two.
God bless the Nineteen Seventies.

I can understand why some wouldn't like it cause they have portrayed the 70's to a tee with the cars, costumes, phones etc. perfectly. If it ain't here right now so some would turn off. You also need to know a bit about the Israli, Palestinian conflict and the part Britain actually played in that. I'm enjoying it enough to watch it all.

Thanks mate, I knew you'd give me an honest reply / appraisal. I might bin that then. Especially if there's no 70s nipple-type jugs.
I trust your "TV Drama" judgement more than anybody.
If you don't enjoy it then I know I won't. We have similar tastes & similar standards. Hard to believe really, considering I spend 80% of the week drunk.

Nobody else on here appreciates it Unk but don't let that put you off. Please watch it when you are sober or you won't have a fecking clue what is going on. Strangers on ITV is isn't!

I enjoyed Strangers, after battling through the opening episode.
I almost gave up, but actually enjoyed it thereafter.
I only stuck with for its cast.

I just watched last Sunday's episode and still liking it. It is building up to the last episode this Sunday. You do have to have your wits about you to understand what is going on but that is right up my street.

I bulk-watched this the other night, over two nights.
Firstly, thank you to my personal TV guide Wallis, whom, if I'd not been prompted & forewarned, I'd have given up half-way through the first episode. It was definitely a slow burner & one of initial perseverance. The rewards were worth it though.
By episode two I was really into it and found myself hooked. The eps flew by thereafter.
I also thought the bird in the lead role reminded me a lot of Lindsay Lohan. Definitely a similar look about her.
The moral of this story is, never give up on anything without checking with Wallis first.

Everyone who gave up on this, or judged it on episode one, missed out big style. It was a pretty decent drama and I loved all the Seventies cars & gear.
I hated it too on ep 1, but at the back of my mind I thought, well Wallis said it was ok, so I'll stick with it until I'm in a position to give that Edinburgy-urgy lass a lesson in telly. Sadly, it got real good after that. So I never did. As per.
