2014 for me. Yes, the aftermath was a mess but I thought Lucy's actual death and the whodunnit was well done. I also enjoyed the Cottons being rebuilt and centre stage with Nicks return and introducing Charlie. I liked his relationship with Ronnie. I know people argue they were overused but I welcomed the introduction of the Carters - they were a breath.of fresh air in The Vic after years of either the Mitchells or Moons. I liked all the new characters actually such as Les, Pam, Aleks.

Honestly don't have a favourite year in this current era. None of them really stand out to me. Every producer since Diedrick Santer has churned out poor quality material and not been able to consistently deliver great storylines/drama... it's hard to judge when the show has been in decline since 2010.
If I had to choose... then I'd say 2018 because it's the first time I've been interested in the show again for a long while and they delivered a great episode recently about rape culture, which I didn't think EE were capable of anymore. Even though John Yorke has made a fair amount of mistakes in his second tenure as head producer, I feel like the scripts are slightly sharper and harder-edged under him.

Hard choice 2016 I think, just as Sean O' Connor was taking over the reigns, on the whole I liked his sotry telling and gentle approach and almost bringing the "normal" back to soaps.
