This involves a trip into the past again. But not bringing back a past character but bringing in a relative.
And the relative is a relative of Alan Bradley. I cannot remember if we ever got any info on Alan's family outside his wife and daughter. Did he ever mention any siblings, aunts, uncles or his parents? Well his ma and dad will be long dead if he was born in 1939 and would have been 79 if still alive.
Maybe bring in a nephew or cousin of Alan. Now that Jenny is back, and married to Johnny, and Rita is still around and shows no sign of stopping, there is plenty of scope to bring in a relative of Alan.

I know I`ve taken the mickey out of Reet in the past, but Barbara Knox is amazing for her age and still going strong. I doubt if I would have her energy when/if I reach that age. Ditto Audrey.
If we really want to delve into Reet`s past, I would like to see Stanley, her stepson (on Len Fairclough`s side) return - even if it`s just one episode. They missed a trick when Len died, coz they could`ve brought Stanley in to contest Len's will. Maybe a love interest for Jenny? Please bring back Dennis Tanner...maybe for their 60th? But with McBollox at the helm - I don't hold much hope. Get rid of McBollox - he is a cowing jinx

Think it would definitely be good for Jenny to have allies beyond Rita and Gemma, especially if her marriage to Johnny is about to implode.
I did have one idea but it depends how well Mark Eden is (he is after all 91 years old!) but how about a brother or cousin of Alan, played by Mark (who always managed to look 11 years younger than he really was!) and this cousin, let’s call him Alistair (because it begins with A and can be shortened to Al!) and he’s the total opposite of Alan. Honest, kind and caring.

In 1984 they bought Billy Walker back but they turned him into a demon, so actor Ken Farrington left and Billy left for Jersey again, this time for good. If they wanted to keep a Walker in the show, they could have bought in a nephew of Jack who showed an interest in the pub. Jack had several brothers.
Or even bring back Joan Davies, nee Walker. Annie's daughter.
