Talking about missing good dramas I watched the first episode of 'Bodies' last night on the iPlayer. Written and adapted from Jed Mercurio's 2002 novel it depicts the NHS as how it sometimes is, pretty pathetic! Given Mercurio's current high ranking after the Bodyguard and the highest every viewing figures for Line of Duty last week the Beeb have decided to put the Box Set from 2004 & 2006 online. Mercurio used to be a hospital physician and has an insight of how horrible the truth can sometimes be in the NHS. It's worth a watch. I watched it the first time round, it was very good, as I remember warts and all. A very young Max Beasley was in it as I recall. I may have to watch it on iplayer. Just finished the watching the Box Sets and absolutely loved it. It's worth a watch so long as your not squeamish and don't mind seeing the odd female parts. Unk, you would love it or maybe not.

Bangers and Cash on Yesterday. It’s all about Mathewson’s Classic Car Auctions in Thornton-le-Dale in Yorkshire. Lovely programme and a lovely part of the world.

Anybody looking for a good drama please watch 'Summer Of Rockets' which is being shown on BBC2 right now but the whole 6 episodes are on iPlayer. A semi-autobiographical drama from Stephen Poliakoff set in Britain during the Cold War during 1958. A star studded cast including Toby Stephens, Keeley Hawes, Linus Roache (son of Wiliam Roache, Ken Barlow) and Timothy Spall. I've watched the first 2 episodes and it's great.

Got that recorded but as per will probably wait until I've got two episodes in case I like it.
Anyone watched Years and Years? Seen the first one, it's different I'll give it that! MrL hated it, I quite enjoyed it so, unless it's just us, it might be a bit marmite.

There is nothing bad to say about it. They have captured the era and attitudes perfectly. I can't wait to see the 3rd episode tonight.

4 episodes in to Summer of Rockets and the story just keeps getting better and better. I have to mention Mark Bonnar, Edinburgh born, who drops his Scottish accent in this admirably and Colin Firth who I've always loved since Spooks playing the nasty schoolmaster. A completely stellar cast and so glad that the BBC put the box set on iPlayer before it had run it's course.

The BBC have put some of Stephen Poliakoff's previous dramas on iPlayer also. Some I've already seen but I'm going to watch those I haven't.

Just watched "Years and Years" loved it. Different, I did laugh out loud at Emma Thompson when she swore on Question Time.

I've watched all of Summer Of Rockets now and it was fabulous! I even cried a tear or two The BBC keep rocking them out. Watched the first two over the last couple of nights - superb! Everything about it is great; the settings, the costumes, the atmosphere, the script, the pacing and of course the actors - and what an ensemble! Looking forward to seeing the rest.
