I quite like the new Barnaby in MM. Not a great fan of the show but can take or leave it. At least the 2nd Barnaby has a personality, the first one, Tom, had the charm of a corpse. John Nettles really did phone it in yet was brill in Bergerac. Also Nettles himself is quite fun unlike Barnaby was. I think he did MM for the money.

I agree World On Fire is what Sunday TV is all about. A good watch without a doubt.

I also think it illustrates, more vividly than anything else I have seen on the subject, what it was like to live during the war .
The scenes of the invasion Poland were just heartbreaking .

I've just watched the 1st episode of 4 of Guilt which is showing for those south of the border on BBC2 this coming Wednesday at 9pm. Starring Mark Bonnar who is one of my favourite Scottish actors. It was on BBC Scotland last night and I recorded it.
Two brothers seem to get away with a crime - but soon discover they can trust no-one, including each other, in a pitch-black, contemporary thriller.
It's definitely worth a watch and it definitely kept me amused for the hour.

Just watched the final episode of World on Fire, superb, superb superb. And good news it is coming back for Series 2. BBC Drama this Autumn is in fine fettle. Apart from Doc Martin what have ITV to offer, didly squat. I would rather watch ITV 3 right now than the main ITV channel!

I honestly thought it would be wrapped up tonight but to know that there will be a 2nd series made me smile. I haven't watched a single episode of Doc Martin this year because there has too many better things showing. I think it has had it's day TBH. Have you been watching Guilt Holey?

I watched the First episode and thought it was pretty sick but very funny and so well acted. A great script. I hope to catch up with more this week.

Hands up haven't watched WoF yet but I've got them all on my planner and it must be good as my son has been watching it on catch-up and recommended it to me saying it's excellent. Like many lads he's lived on a diet of sport and American programmes. I've now recommended the whole of Peaky Blinders and Line of Duty to him, wean him off American shite. SOOOO true about ITV. I'm enjoying Doc Martin as per (keeps mam quiet for a bit on Sunday nights) but other than that their drama output has totally dried up. Like you say ITV3 is much better. ITV justs gets worse, trashier and trashier. Other than soaps I watch more 4 and 5 than I do ITV! I've got Guilt to watch as well. Going to have to wrestle to remote of MrL lol!

Did anyone watch The Dublin Murders?
Just finished it last night, very dark, slow paced and I don't think there was one character who was nice but after the first couple of episodes it hooked me in. I thought it was well acted and I did end up rooting for the two main leads even though (or perhaps because) they were very damaged people.

Being a book lover I'm sitting here watching BBC2's 'Novels That Shaped Britain' that was on Saturday night. Quite enjoying it. And yes it is 3.50 in the morning! Insomnia's a bastard.

So last episode of Doc Martin on Wednesday. Boo hoo. It has been the best series yet according to me and all other sources. Funny, light hearted and well acted. A shining light among all the doom and gloom and yay, another series has been commissioned. There would be an outcry if it finished for good particularly from me as I am in love with Martin Clunes.
