Peter Dean who was axed from EE in 1993 aged 54, will be 80 on 2nd May 2019.
The work he got after EE was very minimal and he even was on the "rock and roll" for a while and moving cones in a car park.

Can anyone remember exactly what he did to incur the wrath of the BBC? The internet is quite light on details and given what else went on in the TV World back then perhaps he was treated very harshly?
By all means sack/suspend someone who has been naughty but killing off the character seems a little bloody minded to me.

I thought it was his feud with Leslie Grantham. But Leslie left in 1988, 5 years before Peter was axed. I thought Peter slagged off the cast after leaving, a case of "sour grapes".
If Pete Beale had just moved away on the run, he could have returned at a later date. The Phil vs Ian feud would not be so bad if Pete was around. Pete and Phil always got on quite well. In the 1990s Ian was tougher, and often used to wind Phil up and he started the feud in many ways as he was vile about Phil in front of him. Phil bought Ian's mum a lovely necklace and Ian said "off the back of a lorry no doubt".
