A few contenders. Some say 1985 due to the exit of so many iconic characters 1983/1984 (Bert, Fred, Stan, Billy, Annie, Len, Eddie, Albert, Elsie) but I liked 1985, we still had Hilda as a hugely iconic character, and Hilda coping with life without Stan and taking in lodgers. Bet became the landlady of the Rovers, Alf married Audrey, Terry knocked up Andrea Clayton etc.
Worst year ever if I had to choose would be 2000 or 2013.

I would say 2019 as it's the year I finally have up on it. Damn you to hell's flames McBollox. *beats fists*

The show plummeted downhill in about 2000-20002, but yes 2019 is a huge contender.

It has never been the same since Elsie Lappin left the corner shop.

2014. Absolutely nothing redeeming about the year at all. From the start of the year with Hayley's death through to the year close with the onset of Steve's depression story they managed to cack pretty much everything up. Prior to that, I would have said 2009 but there were odd good moments there and I'd struggle to pick anything from 2014.

It went downhill when the 2 girls outside the corner shop stopped singing in 1960.
