Well a lot has been said on my Forums recently about Coronation Street and how bad it has become. It is very sad to see this once great institution in this state. Tonight the scenes with Steve, Emma, Tracy, Liz and Amy were appalling. A shame as Emma - Alexandra Mardell was superb and acting her little heart out. No wonder Angela Griffin would only come back for a cameo. Who can blame her. The show can no longer do comedy and be funny and it is really struggling when it comes to Drama. Ian MacLeod needs a good talking too. It is not looking good for the shows 60th next year. What makes it worse is when you watch Classic Corrie on ITV 3 you realise how good it was. The new Bailey family are not working for me and I am not even laughing at Mary any more. I doubt the likes of Maureen Lipman will stop around much longer, she is far too good for this dirge. It's a funny old world, as EastEnders has taken back the mantle as the most watchable and interesting soap and there is a real buzz about the soap. Who used to be the producer of Coronation Street??? Oh yes Kate Oates and where has she gone...... Duff Duff Duff Duff Holey, I think you are forgetting how we all grumbled about Kate Oates and we’re glad when she went, saying how she would ruin EE just as she had Corrie.

The thing is she isn't ruining EE. The show has been turned around by her and Jon Sen working their magic.

I agree Lou and I hold my hand up to that as I was one of those for sure. However I was wrong on both counts. Seeing our beloved Corrie in the state it is now makes me think perhaps Kate was not so bad. As for EE the transformation in 9 months is unbelievable. I honestly think Kate Oates and Jon Sen are producing some of their best work and EastEnders is the best it has been for a long time. As EastEnders is my favourite soap I should be grateful ITV did the dirty on Kate, otherwise we would never have had Kate at Elstree and the BBC. Thank you ITV.

100% agree. It's not working life anymore. It's just tackling issues, juvenile dialogue and gangster stories. If ever anyone wondered why i make Sorrynation Street, this is why

Six episodes is way too much, I don't know how they thought that was a good idea aside from it bringing them in more money. Pity they are resuming with that schedule. And the two parters are pointless as "cliffhangers" are a cop out and don't move the plot along at all.
