What if Bobby Grant was a lazy, crude slob and Jim Royle was a family man who was a rights campaigner. Shows how totally different those 2 men were, and how Ricky Tomlinson can portray such different characters.

Doing a follow up to this, the EastEnders Walford plane crash of 30 December 1993, in the aftermath, Arthur Fowler is walking in Walford Park, and pukes when he sees something up in a tree. He then takes a dead baby to the police station and is scolded by a copper saying " You should not have moved that sir, that is evidence, nothing is to be disturbed, our orders". Arthur Fowler replies "T his is not evidence, it's a baby. And after what we have bee through I don't give a damn about your orders, your procedures, rules or regulations. It is a baby and it is entitled to be laid to rest with a bit of dignity. Not left dangling like some discarded toy". Mandy leaves the square in mid January 1994, after Aidan was vapourised in the plane crash. The allotment is renamed "Aidan's Hill". And as we know for years, Sanjay is the Eric Pollard of Albert Square and is accused of murdering Gita and using the plane crash to cover it up. Grant later manages to walk again, like Jim McDonald and Stephen Gottlieb.
