I have just read in the Metro... That they are saying Geoff raped Yaz last night... Now I know it's a very grey area when a man or woman can say no at any point... But is the art of persuasion dead...?

I think they just mean that because she's being abused maybe she feels like she can't say no without there being consequences? So it's a form of coercion not persuasion.
I would say that many people, women in particular, have been persuaded into having sex for many and varied reasons e.g. ooh I feel like it now you naughty boy (lol!), it'll shut him up (sounds bad but not in reality, you're still choosing to do it), I love him and don't want him to feel rejected or I better as I don't want him going for it elsewhere if I refuse too often! etc. All ultimately the woman's choice. Many and varied reasons for partaking in some loving but NOT because they think there'll be hell to pay if they don't or they'll end up paying for that refusal later or he'll just take what he wants anyway so I might as well give in. There is a definite difference between coercion and persuasion.
But I would say 'rape' is a bit too strong a word for what happened on Friday but it did look like he wasn't going to take no for an answer no matter how 'nice' he appeared so perhaps not ...
Which of course directly flies in the face of her standing her ground and telling him she was sleeping in the spare room the other week as she didn't want to share a bed with him!
They should make their bloody minds up. Sometimes she stands up to him and others she's meek like Friday.
