O... M... G...
This 10 parter is absolutely horrifying... In the sort of way where the goose bumps go all over your body... And take ages to fade away... This series puts the chilling into spine chillingly frightening...
Won't give too much away... But it's about a family who move to an old house... And their experiences there either together or individually...
It also jumps forward to the present day... And the turmoils there lives are in due to living in such an environment...
We watched the first three eps last night and watching some more tonight... TBH we only started watching it because I got a google notification on my phone... About the second series that's just kicked off on Netflix... But is already getting rave reviews...
The second series is called The Haunting of Bly Manor... And is set in the UK in the 80s... So looking forward to that...
Anyways if you have Netflix and if you're into horror... It's a must...

I watched it last year, absolutely brilliant and really scary and shocking in places. Well acted, superbly filmed, very atmospheric and great scripts. One of the best of the genre I've ever seen.
Can't wait for series 2!

I think I have seen this on the Investigation Discovery Channel. Its good and pretty scary. I think there is one with mobsters who live at the house for a time.

Started watching The Haunting of Bly Manor on Netflix last week, watched 3 episodes so far and it's OK to quite good (bit slow) but IMO not as good as Hill House. I'm not sure if it's the follow up to Hill House i.e. same makers but different people/house or not. If so a bit upsetting as I was hoping to see the family from Hill House again. Some of the 'British' accents are a bit ropey too But it's still atmospheric and can make you jump at times.

Yeah we're going to start on this too... Heard it's not as scary as THaHH... But as it goes on it's more thought provoking...

Finished Bly Manor last night. Not nearly as scary as Hill House which was on another level. Seemed more of a love story towards the end than a horror story but worth a watch if you're into the genre.
Some mid episodes were a bit confusing jumping around time wise but then the last 3 episodes bring all the strands together but the last one dragged a tad for me in the last half. But nevertheless it was an interesting concept.

Not had time to invest in Bly Manor just yet... But definitely on the list in the next few weeks... Have you watched anything interesting on Netflix, Amazon or even Britbox (we've got it free for 6 months with MrL's new mobile)? I'm looking for recommendations for this new bloomin' lockdown!

Watched His House last night Charley Says... and it's pretty scary! Damn sight scarier than Bly Manor. The whole African vibe is a great twist from the usual horror/spooky genre. Definitely recommend. It's just an hour and a half film too so you're not stuck watching 8-10 episodes.
