A bit of a slow start to this series of Line of Duty, I am sure it will pick up and there will be many twists and turns along the way, it has done enough for me to watch ep 2, mainly because i have watched series 1 to 5. Not sure how viewers will react to ep1 of series 6?

Well I watched and recorded it because I knew I would have to watch it all over again. This was handy though www.digitalspy.com/tv/a35883842/line-of-duty-episode-1-season-6-explained-theories/I didn't realise that Terry was the lad from Series 1 who had Jackie Laverty's body in his freezer but it all makes sense now given that a large appliance had been removed from the flat. So Kate has left AC12 but not for long though I'm sure. It was good to see Buckells back as a dithering member of the police. You really have to have your wits about you watching this after a couple of years of it being off screen.

I am waiting for Hastings to say "You seem to know a lot about this, fella." Why was Kate promoted over Steve? Buckells is definitely incompetent and a good twist near the end. I wonder when Ryan Pilkington will appear?

Watched it last night, like walls I recorded it to watch again. First episode is basically to settle us back in I always think and there's definitely enough there to intrigue and put bums on seats again next week. Thanks for that link wallis, made some things clearer, helped to join the dots. I really wish I'd watched the last episode of last series before I watched this one though!

So Ryan's made his appearance but turned his back when AC-12 entered the Hill Police Station with Steve at the helm because he would recognise the wee scrote for nearly removing one of his fingers. Kate knows him from somewhere and has forgotten that she interviewed him when he was 13.
Why was Steph Corbett meeting Ted in London when she lives in Liverpool? We know he gave her the £50,000 but why would she travel down to meet with him? Steve knows there's something going on and now she knows he is reliant on painkillers.
So there was a refence back from Gail Vella about the mistaken murder of Karim Ali in the very first scene of Series 1. The reason why Steve refused to go with the order given by Chief Inspector Philip Osborne and then he transferred from Counter Terrorism to AC-12.
Is Kate working under cover and did Jo Davidson frame Farida to take the heat off her?
I timed that interrogation scene and it lasted 15 minutes. Just love it!
Who dropped off the burner phone to Jo at the end? She was having a flakey.

I wonder when Ryan Pilkington will appear? Of course he’s incompetent . He’s a Brummie and all Brummies are portrayed as thick. It’s mandatory. 🤣

I love how Jed Mercurio ties in other events/characters from previous series, very clever. I really got into episode 2 last night. I am the same as you Wallis, i can't make up my mind if Kate is working under cover. I can't wait for Steve to recognise Ryan. Hastings seems to be a little lethargic but that is perhaps because he is on his final warning, although i did like him interrogating Jo Davidson. Roll on next Sunday, the best (only decent thing on apart from Unforgotten) right now.

Well she's certainly behaving like she is! Carmichael has ice in her veins and takes great pleasure in what she does. In another life she'd have been a Nazi.
Hastings problem is that he's too successful, his superiors don't want too many corrupt coppers being exposed as it makes the force look bad. Someone else might try to strike more of a delicate balance but not Hastings, he wants to catch every single 'bent copper' (can only be said in NI accent now) and will stop at nothing to achieve it.
Cliff hanger though: Wow. Ryan's face when he realised that he'd been under surveillance and his game was up! Stroke of genius on the writer's behalf to bring him back from the first series when he was just a kid. Liked the comparison to Dot Cotton them both being born into dodginess.
Kelly McDonald's been a great addition as Jo Davidson, another one who's been born into it (as in seriously born into it - Tommy Hunter's daughter no less - AND niece? Incest somewhere?) but unlike Ryan she's struggling and seemingly wants to go straight.
But I hope Kate's game isn't up, surely she can't be one of the shock deaths that the writer is so keen on? No Kate? Unthinkable.
Loved Steve being a crack shot last week. But he does seem incredibly active for someone with such a damaged back!
And for a programme filmed in Northern Ireland it just wouldn't be right for James Nesbitt not to make an appearance so here he is!
Thoroughly enjoying this series, my must watch programme of the week. So good I watch it twice.
