Regarding Christmas Day ratings I can see ITV 1 winning daytime and then BBC One winning most slots from 3.pm up to 9:30pm. Clever scheduling by BBC One means Call the Midwife will overlap Doc Martin by 30 minutes which will dent Doc Martin in the overnights. However both Call the Midwife and Doc Martin should rate relatively well, I can see Call the Midwife hitting 5+ million and Doc Martin just under 4 million.
EastEnders I think will be the lowest rated soap out of the 3, as there is less interest and no buzz around the show with around 2.5 million. Emmerdale airing at the earlier time of 6pm and against Strictly, I can see getting around 3 million and Corrie topping the soaps with around 3.5 only against The Wheel and Ghosts.
I hope Doc Martin rates well as ITV have made an effort this year. I could be completely wrong we will find out Boxing Day, but apart from the Kings Speech I can see Christmas Day across the board being very low.
I am looking forward to Doc Martin on the big day.

I reckon Doc Martin will beat everything. It’s the last ever episode and a Xmas one. I wouldn’t miss it. I’ll record Call the Midwife.

I can't stand Doc Martin. It was pretty decent to begin with but it had it's day years ago. I do like Martin Clunes but I can understand why he wants to call it a day.

I hope EE rates well as it is without doubt the best soap by a country mile, it will gain some viewers with catch up as they have a younger audience than the itv soaps.

There’s only so many baby stories being born in a poor area that I can watch.

I know what you mean, but I love the nostalgia, it is set in my favourite city, a great cast, it has the ability to be all lovely and warm and yet hard hitting at the same time. Some great performances.

Nothing much there for me, thank goodness for the streaming channels, although we don't watch much tv in our house on Christmas day.

The Kings Speech I can see topping the day with around 6.5 million on BBC One and around 1.5 million on ITV 1. I think Call the Midwife will be the second most watched show with around 5.2 million viewers today. I can see low numbers all round.
Merry Christmas.

I have enjoyed the soaps over Christmas, Doc Martin and Call the Midwife were a little bit of a let down and too long at 90 minutes and Mrs Brown's Boys was awful.

I have just finished watching Series 1 again on iplayer, just about to re watch Series 2. You forget how brilliant it was. Christ they talk really fast on this. I found it hard to keep up even with subtitles on. I did enjoy it though and what's the bets it's Catherine's sister and partner who did the deed.
