40 years wow, where does the time go, I remember watching the first Breakfast Time on 17 January 1983 at 6:30 am with Frank and Selina and then on the 1st Feb watching TV-am when that started with the famous five. I had a sweatshirt with Breakfast Time and TV-am on, sad I know. I always fancied Francis Wilson.
I liked Breakfast Time when it began, such a shame the BBC ditched this format in 1986. BBC Breakfast have the right mix these days. You need to be eased into the morning gently unlike the very shouty GMB on itv.

I'm not a morning person so never have the TV on until much later in the day. I will put it on for any political results though but the rest of the time I get my morning news online.

I am not a morning person either. Unlike when I was a kid.

I wonder if ITV will mark the 1 Feb with TV-am?

I used to watch GMB through the pandemic when Piers was on it, as love him or hate him, he was entertaining. I don't bother now, Kate Garraway and Susanna Reid interrupting and talking over people was just too irritating and don't start me on the cocky little irritant that is Andy Peters.

There was also the weatherman who jumped from a model England to a model Ireland on the Thames while saying the weather forecast. He was another perv I think.

I was 8 days away from making my appearance in the world so found the special episode fascinating. I’ve also watched YouTube clips from the old shows too plus the special documentary made about TV-am. Mad to think back then the Beeb did the informal show and ITV had some Sergeant Major chappy bellowing news at you!

Fred Talbot was the man who used to jump from the model Ireland to England. He also liked to jump from kid to kid.
