I notice EastEnders like bringing back characters after many years, even if it was for a brief stint or one-off appearance. Even if the character appeared for a few episodes back in the 1990s EastEnders bring them back decades.
Imagine if Coronation Street took this approach. So many characters could return for brief stints. Luke Strong would probably return and finally get some on-screen interaction with Carla Connor and possibly run the factory again. Or Tom Kerrigan (who never got an exit) returning to reconcile with Maria and see his relative Liam Jr.
Linda Cheveski and her sons could have came back when Dennis Tanner was in the show from 2011-2014. That was the biggest missed opportunity. EastEnders surely would have brought her back if Dennis was on that show. Anne Cunningham was also up for a return apparently.
There are countless other examples as well.

Trevor Ogden could return to the street for a episode to see Ken Barlow, and speak to Kevin Webster who was Hilda's lodger for a few years, and to say Hilda has died.
Yes Tom Kerrigan could return.

I don't know what Kenneth Farrington's stance was on Coronation Street in the 2010s but I could see Billy Walker return for Deirdre's funeral in 2015.

There were rumours that Hilda would return for Betty's funeral but I doubted it. Hilda got on with Betty but they were hardly bosom buddies.

Thanks to CAEF's suggestion on another thread I would like to see Terry Duckworth make another return and Tyrone is revealed to be his son. And reintroduce Terry's son Brad Armstrong, who hasn't been seen since he was a baby back in 1997 so will be 26 years old now. We already got Paul Clayton and Tommy Duckworth reintroduced as adults in the past. Although I'm not sure if Nigel Pivaro would return again as it has been 11 years since he last appeared.

That would make more sense than Kevin being his father.

Terry “Eh T-Rone I’m your Dad”
Tyrone “You? Bloody hell, I am a Duckworth”
Rest of cast sit there open mouthed in shock…
End credits….

All we need is to revisit the Easties Wicksy paternity storyline, and Pat was mistaken in thinking he was Brain's, and he was Kenny's instead, thus making Simon and Steven true Beale's after all.
I doubt Pat was 100% sure it was Brian when she finally "admitted" it was in that episode just before Lou died.
