Will probably watch the early Grange Hills. And need to rewatch my old Corrie boxsets as well, back when there was better characters.

Midsomer Murders was best in the 1990s, even though it was just the last 3 years. It started off as a gritty portrayal of rural vs urban life as it flitted between Causton and the Midsomer villages. Tom Barnaby was more aggressive when confronting suspects. From 2000 onwards, Causton rarely featured and Barnaby became a mellow copper who spoke in a creepy soft voice and the eery creepy music and tone was not to my liking, plus more focus on old country yokes and bumpkins.
Columbo started off as more aggressive in the 1968 pilot episode. One thing I dislike was the fact he smoked cigars a lot, and while I am a huge Columbo fan, I vowed never to smoke again but seeing him light up is a bit unnerving, however I shall not ever give in to any temptations to return to smoking. I learned my lesson from smoking once, and vow never to again. I started getting stomach pains and lethargy, so it was the warning I think to quit for good, and I have. I should not allow fags to spoil my liking for Columbo.

I’ve seen him so far in Gentle Touch, Bergerac, Brookside, Minder and of course Casaulty/Holby City. The way he’s masked that delightful NI brogue for almost 40 years is a skill in itself!

He's just appeared in Brookie as Heather's old school friend when she visited her parents in Belfast... He turns up again if I'm not mistaken at her door...

Yes, they have a deep and meaningful when she visits home. He then returns the favour at her place, and then there’s another brief visit later on as he’s chasing his sister who came over to see Heather herself!
It’s like they don’t wanna give Heather a new partner but they will fill her house with father in laws, mates from back home, Polly from the office et al 🤣🤣

I’ve got all episodes of Tales of the Unexpected recorded and really enjoying them, again like others have said rather dated. Interesting to see actors looking so young. Made in the early 80s. Also Heartbeat and Where the Heart Is.. Why can’t they make programmes like that any more? Seems to be all crime, detective stories which gets a bit samey.

I was really enjoying the Onedin Line on one of those obscure channels right down the planner. I was a little kid when it was shown the first time but I remember my dad loved it so watching it again made me feel a bit closer to him after he's been dead 37 years. It's dated (some lovely 70s hair dos ) but still enjoyable and was quite peed off they only showed the first two series. But when they made series in those days they really made a series. I'm sure each series was 12 episodes compared to the paltry 6, or at the most 8, we get nowadays.

Loved that when I was a kid, were some made in the 70s because I seem to remember my mam letting me stay up late to watch them? Heartbeat and Where The Heart Is was lovely Sunday night viewing. Really peed me off that they didn't give Heartbeat a proper ending after all those years. Not one episode just to tie up loose ends. Disgusting.

Loved Heartbeat in the early days with Nick Rowan and his Dr wife, old Sargeant Blaketon when he ruled with a rod of iron and Greengrass the lovable rogue who always managed to outwit everyone. It doesn't date but I lost interest when Nick who said he would never ever leave Yorkshire as he loved it so went off to the Canadian Rockies of all places with his very annoying new wife and there a procession of new coppers and lovable rogues including Peggy with the disgusting teeth
