I have bought several old episodes of EE on ioffer. 1986, 1990, 1993, 1994.
I remember many of these episodes when they first were broadcast. However I found 1990 was quite a boring year for EE, yes we did see the arrival of Phil and Grant but Grant was a doormat originally. 1990 was a bit of a meh year.
1994 was one of the best.

In 1994, Frank Butcher had financial worries and sold Phil a flat and a cafe for pittance, Phil returned the favour by torching the car lot, accidentally killing someone. Frank and Phil were quizzed by the police but the case was later dropped due to lack of evidence. Frank tried to cover his tracks by saying his business accounts went up in the flames but Pat saw them and handed them to the insurance man which proved the fire was a scam. Frank fell apart and became so moody that he ran away without telling anyone. He left Pat in poverty. She soon was sure he was not coming back and got on with her life. Little did Pat know that almost 2 years later Frank would return.
1994 also saw Sharongate.
I now have 1988 EE on DVD.

Where do you get the DVDs from if you don't mind me asking?

I collect my footy team's pin badges. Got over 800 of the buggers.
Spent £350 on a rare pre-war one recently. The missus will nail my nuts to the floor if she ever finds out.

I didn't watch back then I don't think. What sort of things were happening in '94 then if you don't mind me asking? X Oh 94 was fantastic. In fact -94-96 was a real high point for the show. Pete Beale had died December 93 (the same day Lucy and Poeter were born) which prompted the arrival of David Wicks - one of the best characters ever. The Jacksons also arrived early 94 so wwe had the storyline of David turning out to be Bianca's father. Frank was having increasing money difficulties, leading to Phil torching the car lot as an insurance fraud, unaware that a homeless teenager was asleep in one of the cars. His guilt over this caused Frank to have a nervous breakdown and disappear and then Pot struggled with his debts. Phil and Kathy started dating, which caused sharon to feel jealous culminating in Sharongate in October and Grant persecuting her in on of the nastiest divorces ever seen. Cindy was still married to Ian and bored following the twins birth - she had a brief affair with somebody she met and then started flirting with David - their affair proper started in 95 which lead to her paying to have Ian shot. Ricky was dating Bianca but had an affair with her best mate Natalie. Tricky dicky, the market inspector was just generally creepy, sleazy and nasty. There was loads of other stuff too but those are the plot lines which spring to mind.
