.... or 'I've been the paradise but I've never been to Leeds" as we sang Some would say that never having been to Leeds would be Paradise! Only kidding, lovely city - at least it is after all the money put into it in the late 80s / early 90s. There was a line in that i always used to get wrong but can't remember what it was now. Might have to relisten to find out! I wo,'t have to dig out the single as it is on a movie soundtrack cd thanks to its use in Priscilla.

And some more music I despise.
The incidental music they play on a loop on our Sky tv. Its nothing recognisable just this plinky-plonky-bong-bong-clonk noise.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Not a pop song but escargot mentioning Sky's loop music brought it to mind.
Greensleaves, allegedly written by Henry VIII. God i hate that tune and it is often used as hold music.

The Beatles during their drug fueled sessions during the late 60`s and early 70`s. I know 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds' was about LSD, but some of their later stuff was absolute shite. I did like their early stuff though. Even as a kid I thought they were rubbish. I could never understand what the attraction was in them.

I've just remembere another one: Hey There, Delilah by The Plain White Tees. My God, it almost made me want to kill myself it was so dreary! I remember it coming on the radio while I was writing an essay for school and it zapped all motivation out of me and I truly lost the will to do the work that day. It was just like that scene in Father Ted (when he's going to America) where the depressed priest gets happy after listening to the Shaft theme, then gets on the bus and hears Radiohead playing on the radio and goes back into depression!

Yeah that song is so miserable. Lol at the Father Ted comparison. There's also one by The Fray called How to Save a Life or something that's quite depressing too. Also you've made me feel old saying you were at school when that came out as it was 2005 and I was 25 then!

AHHHHHH! How could I have forgotten about that dirge?! That's another one that I loathe and what made it worse was that one of my friends at the time thought it was brilliant and played it all the time on her phone... and that's also reminded me of the rest of my friends loving The Kooks whereas I couldn't stand them and all of their utterly boring songs, so add them to the list! God, I must have repressed all of that crap. Apologies for making you feel old! redface4

Scouting For Girls were TERRIBLE! They always used the same kind of plinky-plonk piano sound in every song and it annoyed the hell out of me!
